I qualified in august (Itec) and I would really like to do gel nail training. I am so confused ! there are so many types, acrygel, bio, IPD and it goes on. Has anyone trained in acrygel, this is a two day course, I havent seen this used in any salons yet. My other options are doing it alone at home with essential nails and the hand trainer, which gel is that? would i be insured as I have an itec? with babtac or is the cert with essential enough, oh this is confusing. There is also another course which is four days with capital for the complete but would that be enough training for fibreglass, silk, gel and acrylic, im not sure..... why cant anything be simple? Thanks for listening any advice would be very welcome.

Cant tell you about the others you ask about as havent trained or used them, I have trained with Essential Nails insurance is easy enough to get with a EN certificate. if you already have insurance just give them a ring and ask them if they recognise the EN training..
As for the 4 day training, I think I speak for most Geeks when I say learning all systems in 4 days is highly unrealistic. it is really more of a taster of each system, once you have done the training you will still have so much more to learn and will probably spend out a lot more in more training... I would decide what system you want to train with and go for what suits you. There are a lot out there so take your time and go with a known name...HTH xxxxx

Hi Teepee

I am not up to date with the companys you have quoted but I do know that there are quite a few reputable companys out there who have first class training and back up service.

Why not look at the big companys first and ask for the training info to be sent to you and this will help you to make an informed decision.

I use Young Nails - Throughout England and the UK but Ezflow, Nsi and creative are all equal.

Hope this helps:hug:

Hi TEEPEE
It all depends on if you want to do soak off gels or buff off gels?

Im Bio trained which is a soak off gel and is fab on natural nails and works ok on tips if kept short and they have sculpting gels too,

I also use Nobility Gel by Lechat and this has the same properties as Biosculpture,

Im now looking for a buff off gel to add to my menu, and deciding on a good system and back up service at times makes you feel like banging your head against a brickwall lol,

I would research companies for example, Creative, NSI, Ezflow,Young Nails, Entity, Opi to name but a few.... Ive tried Acrygel the hybrid system.... tbh I found it a nightmare to remove and heat spikes OUCH!!

Hi, I use Calgel, Bio Sculpture which are both soak off gels, but I also use ibd gel they do both soak off and buff off. I love all of them.

My first and most used is Calgel because I like the product strength and the great customer service I always get from Calgel.

Bio Sculpture has more colours to choose from and I use bio only for overlays.

ibd soak off is new and is great for nail art as it is runnier than the other two they arenot so easy to drag as well.

Ibd buff off gel is great so strong and shiny and so easy to use. It can be used to build a nail and then covered with any of the soak off colours too.

All of the above have good adhesion to the natual nail and that is why I use them. You get what you pay for. I have tried other gels that I dont want to mention that were cheaper to buy but did not do the job iykwim.

I hope this helps.

hey, ive trained in acrygel and to be honest i felt the two day course was too short and it was alot to take in. I also found that it took ages to remove!!
