Helen if you can prove through certificate that you are a trained PROFESSIONAL... then you can buy EVERYTHING CND does EXCEPT L+P & GEL... those are the professaional products that we sell through education. Just call Sweet Squared and fax or email your professional therapist / nail related certificate and you are good to go!!

I can't beleive you didn't know this!!!

It surely does!!!

I'm really surprised about that. CND is distributed to colleges for students and yet they will have to do a conversion course before they can continue to use the product.

I think it's the same with any companies products you use at college (except Salon Systems). I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong :)

xx

I only supply 18 colleges (tiny in the scheme of how many there are). Those college tutors have all had 121 training here at HQ. If the student passes NVQ LEVEL 2/3 or VTCT using CND I am happy for them to purchase. The college let's us know at the end of term who has passed and we take it from there.

Since S2 took over of the CND brand, we are working far more closely and comprehensively with colleges. The old system was a farce and we have made it less complicated and far more structured.

We do and would happily have students on conversion for Brisa or L+P but generally they have a very good working knowledge and we offer Skill building and then Masters as the next step!

Hope that is a help! :!:

I am a tutor that teachers nail technology within the adult education sector, I teach using nsi and once my learners have qualified with myself (they are working toward C&G nail services) they will be able to purchase products direct from nsi themsleves.

I can not speak for Creative as i do know that when i qualified (many moons ago) I still had to go and do a conversion with creative to use their products.

:)

Hi,
I am NSI trained, now converted over to CND, but I have to say that anyone can buy from NSI through their website or even in the shop at their training centres. I don't agree with this as anyone can get hold of the NSI products. I do mean any of their products. I think the way S2 insist on seeing your training certificate is most professional.
Lotsa luv x

That makes perfect sense, thanks Sam :)

Have to say that I bought quite a lot of Ezflow products at Pro Beauty and I don't have a conversion qualification with them.. perhaps I wasn't supposed to do this.

This is one of the biggest problems with the shows - you cannot police who buys. The organisers are supposed to ensure that it is only professionals who attend but this is also difficult to do as we all know tickets change hands on Ebay.

Professional is as professional does - if professionals didnt sell their tickets on ebay then the industry would move another step forward.

Sorry, off soap box now LOL.

You're right Fiona, of course.

Aside from this, when I registered for Pro Beauty I wasn't actually asked for any proof that I was a qualified technician. I could have been absolutely anybody. Infact when I first registered I was a student and then when I qualified I rang them and they just changed it over the phone without any proof too.

I guess it's not a manageable thing to do really when there are so many people go to the shows.

Oh yes, it is manageable and it used to be managed much better than it is now.

It is in part due to the 'non professional' attitude of the organisers of the shows, that the number of the attendees has gone way down, the quality of the people manning the booths has gone way down, and the reason why so many do not attend shows, both exhibitors and buyers.

I said it before the Gmex show and many said, oh they are really cracking down this year and it's going to be much better ... yada yada yada ... They didn't and it wasn't. Attendance was poor and the show was not full of the buyers that need to be there to attract the high end brands.

I had heard that attendance was good and the show was a lot better than previous but as I haven't been to any others I can't say either way.

Which high end brands do you refer to Geeg, with the exception of CND of course?

I sometimes go to the NSI shop in Salford and recently I have been asked to show proof of my qualifications. Last time I hadn't taken one with me because I never usually get asked but luckily I had my loyalty card with me and I had to show my qualifications when I applied for it. Just to let you know incase thinking of going down and they ask you for proof x

Well your experience is the first time I have EVER heard of NSI doing this. It has been well known for years that this is not their normal policy.

At Creative it has always been policy to sell ONLY to professionals, not only that but the "professional use only products" (L&P & Brisa Gels) are only sold if a class has been taken with the product .. in this way, Creative have created a standard for the technicians who use CND products in the UK when none existed in the industry in the UK. One of the reasons that CND is held in such high esteem ... that and of course their innovative and high end and divine products.

However the topic of this thread is about buying Creative Christmas goodies if not CND trained and the answer of course is yes you can as long as you hold a valid certificate of training to prove you are a professional.
