Hi I'm new to this site. I am a Business Travel Agent by day and trying to build up my business in the beauty industry!

I have read somewhere that people re fill their clean and easy wax cartridges with pot wax as it is cheaper. What is the easiest and cleanest way to do this, as I can only see if I were to do it a big sticky mess!!!

Well Ive never heard of anyone doing this..!:?: I use Clean & Easy wax & I just replace the cartridges, wouldn't dream of trying to pour wax into them:eek:, and when you have finished with the cartridge you should discard of it & replace with a new one! The idea of using these is to be as hygienic as possible.

Hi I couldn't see how you could re fill them and have always bought new.
Thanks for clearing it up for me!

I do not refill my C&E cartridges ( I now use the babyliss ones anyway) but I have on occasion in the past. I do not see why it is unhygienic at all. If you want to refill try the Salon System wax in a carton designed for refilling.;)

I refil them all the time because i dont like the clean and easy wax i heat a pot and just pour it in slowly as long as its runny enough it goes in with no trouble.I then refil the smaller ones from the bigger ones.Ive done this for about 10 years.
As for being unhygienic as long as you are cleaning the roller heads properly between clients and generally keeping everything clean with wax cleaner etc where is the cross contamination.Criky we arn't in operating theatres.

Exactly the same with me. I don't think the C&E wax is very good & much prefer my Babyliss Satin Smooth wax.

I now also use their roller heads as they are cheaper than C&E

I really rate babylis wax thats what i refil with and their coconut white hot wax in the big tubs is just brill for bikini and underarm very flexible and effective and i can buy it less than 1 mile from my house which helps.

Thanks for all you info, I thought I had seen somewhere people refill them. Just not convinced I would be able to pour a large pot of wax into the cartridges myself!

You can buy Salon Systems wax and it comes in a carton, basically it is like a pint milk carton that you open and it is shaped like a spout so is very easy to pour into your clean and Easy cartridge.

You microwave it first, then melt and pour. It's very easy to do and before anyone talks about dangers of microwaving wax...you do NOT then apply directly to your client. In my last salon we had about 18 cartridges and these were regularly filled ready to be swapped over with an empty one.

The wax will be cold when you pop it in heater but because you are always swapping an empty one for a full one you always have them at the correct temperature when you're ready to use and therefore there is never any need to use straight from being heated in microwave.

It is not unhygienic at all.

On the subject of hygiene it's worth remembering that the Perron Rigot wax cartridges don't have removable heads so you clean off the roller after each client but you can't take it off and sanitise it.
Clearly Perron Rigot don't think this is an issue!

We use Clean & Easy roller wax at the spa where I work and I find it so much easier and quicker for larger areas like legs, chest and back. However... the original honey wax in the refills sets far too quickly in my opinion and instead of covering all the front of a half leg in wax then removing, I have to roll down one side - remove and then roll down the -other side - remove. It gets stuck solid otherwise!!! I also dont trust it for bikini for this reason :o I use the pot for this
