Hi, I put a set of tips with gel on a client a week and a half ago. She has rang to say that two tips have come off. She then went on to say she thought one of the nails looked a bit pinky so she has tried to take it off with acetone. I dont know how to handle this. I said I would need to come and have a look at them. I dont mind replacing the ones that have come off, but if she has been using acetone then surely this would cause lifting to the other fingers. I told her at the time of consultation that she must not use acetone. I am just starting out as a mobile technician and I feel really down about this. I dont know how to handle this. I have not slept all weekend. Can anyone offer any advice?

Did she rebook for infills???

No she didn't.

How long after you put them on did she break them and was it before she used the acetone or after?, and are all her other nails still ok?
Dont panic clients do break nails!!!!

As a mobile nail tech myself, and Ive learnt this from on here in the past, you need to set a minimium call out fee ,so when you finish your treatment on your new client ,hand them their after care sheet and a price list ,stating your call out fee charge at the bottom of it.

Ive found since doing this ,I dont get the problem of new clients phoning me if theyve broke a nail, they usually wait untill their infill appointment, and we sort it then .I would also be inclinned to say if she had them done a week and a half ago..she d be due for infills in a few days,so book her in.

dont panic acteone quickly wiped over wont do much harm and its prob an acetone based nail varnsih remover so it will be very dilute. I would explain its normal to lose a nail or 2, esp if its your 1st set. As said I would just say ' well its neat time for your next appointment, we'll get a look at it then. As a gesture of good will you could replace them foc but let her know it is not your fault else she will be doing it all the time!

One and a half weeks is too long imo and i would charge her for repairs out of appointment time. I would only repair for free if it happened within 24 hrs and they tell me within this time.
