I feel like giving up

I did a set of Brisa nails 3 weeks ago and advised the client to return in 2 weeks for rebalancing. She told me that her friend always went 3 weeks and she would give me a call.

She didn't show for a Spa Pedi this evening and so I called her.

She is very disappointed with me as her nails have been ruined and I had told her that enhancements would not damage her nails. She filed them off herself using a 'goody gritty file' and now her nails are sore and wobbly feeling.

Just at the moment I feel what is the point:irked:

so she had no intention of ringing you to say she wasn't coming !!!..(just like my 10am client this morning) clients like this really wind me up. surely common sense would tell her that she has caused the damage herself...

I guess she blames the milkman when the milk goes off cos she didn't put it in the fridge too...

I do hope you whistled the tune to "wish me luck as you wave me goodbye" as she was telling you this.

Thanks girls, you raised a smile which I'd have said was impossible:)

Don't you dare even think about it!

Adele, we all get clients like this, try not to let her attitude get you down or we'll have to come round and put a bat up your nightdress

 x

Sounds a bit like my client, also friend who came in today for her waxing but had filed off her gel toes (the overlay not the toes)!!!! She now has barely any toe nail to speak of and has had to sleep with her feet out of the bed for 2 weeks because it was too painful to have a sheet on them

Why on earth she didn't phone me, I have no idea!

I couldn't agree more!!!

C'mon Adele this woman was a no show for a Spa pedi....because she knew she had done wrong.
This was absolutely nothing to do with your workmanship....which I am sure was first class.

Deep breath......get over it....and move on.

Oh well OK ...have a wee glass of wine tonight to help you get over it...if you must...then move on...etc......in fact I will join you ....cheers!

Don't you dare even think about it! Ooh yes Sandi. whatever you say:Scared::Scared::Scared:

I know Cathie, cos she's too b....y tight. The ultimate false economy.

how infuriating, we all get them, just move on. Its a two way thing, she will or must have done the same with her previous techs.:hug::hug:

I have a young client that took her nails off herself, they were Brisa also, didnt show for a rebalance appointment, so I called her and she said the same, she'd taken them off herself as she fancied a change, and her nails are now red raw and horrifically thin
This was about 3 months ago, and slowly but surely they are getting back to normal. She is coming to me every week now for a manicure!!

Silly silly people!!

Cheer up Adele, Im sure it happens to all of us, but I know how you must feel!! :grr:

i think clients realise that there is some skill in extending nails, but they seem to feel that they are being taken for a ride if we then charge for our skill in removal too.

I agree, its insane for them to think that they can remove them properly, before I did nails and I used to have them done, I would never take them off myself!

In short terms clients do what clients will do...some of them though.

I have a client who take them off herself, by ripping them off, and wonder why they are so sore, I have now told her that she cannot go for more than 14 days max, and I will not guarantee that they last even that long.

What I am thinking about now is how to educate new clients. I tell them how they should care for the nails, but don't actually hand out a leaflet.

Do you do this?

Yes Karen I give my clients aftercare leaflets, sometimes though I think some of them use them as loo roll because they sure as hell don't read them:irked:

God Adele I know how you feel, it really is fustrating when clients think they can remove them themselves. I had one the other week who done just that then informed me that, contrary to what I said, enhancements do ruin your natural nails , I wasn't long in telling her, "No love, YOU, ruined your natural nails"

Thank you all for your support, Usually this sort of thing just makes me angry but for some reason this one got me down.
I took Izzi's advice and feel much more positive today :):):)
