Hello to all of you who were in Leeds today.
I am totally blown away with the new colour launch.
I have treated myself to the Bold Starter kit........But I will be telephoning an order in tomorrow.
Hubby said just get it.
It is the most amazing polish and the "effects range" change the colours so dramatically I can't rant on about it enough.
Lovely to see some of the Geeks from "The Event" of last year.

I have been hearing all day how brilliant it all was .. I bet Samantha and Samuel are on their knees after going back and forth to London Yesterday for the Beauty Awards ... got back to Yorkshire at about 4am so they were there for the launch!!

Congratulations to Liza Smith CND Ambassdor by the way, for winning Nail Technician of the year at the Beauty Awards. She has deserved it for years and she has got it.

I would have loved to see you all and my friend Marian (mum) ... I cannot wait until I get my Salon Stand ... it'll have to be in October when I am there in the office if there are any left.

You need to get your order in now for October Gigi, most of them were sold out after the morning session they were that impressive,
please don't ask me which i liked the best as it would be impossible to choose

Geek bear had fun there too, i will put up his pics in his social group as soon as i get a chance.

I hope I can get all I need ...... I think I may be in for a long wait x

Those of us who have had any doubts about CND's collection should really go and have a look and try it out for themselves because the collection really is FANTASTIC...!!

I went to the London launch today and the whole concept is truly amazing. There are 50 core 'colours' and 15 'effects'. Each time an effect goes on top of the colour, it changes it. The darker colours are the most effective and really does give a 'wow' factor.

What I think is very clever about CND, is the fact that they have taken such a simple, basic idea and managed to base their entire collection around it. We, as consumers and nail techs, have been layering enamels over enamels for years. But most of the time, it is trial and error and a bit of hit and miss for us all. But now, one of the top nail companies have used that simple and basic idea, thought about every shade and effect possible, put it into production so now we no longer have to do the hard work ourselves.....!! How brilliant is THAT...???

The idea is basic, the results are astonishing..!!

I can't fault this product at all. The concept is brilliant, the new brush holds the correct amount of colour, the consistency of the enamel flows well, the drying time is much faster, even the design of the bottle has proper practical uses. If I really have to grill on something, then it will have to be the higher price of the enamels. But then although the price is higher, the quantity of the enamels you need to buy is much lower, so in the long run, you are in fact saving money.

I don't have a salon, but if I did, i will definately stock the entire range and use it exclusively. Once they see it, the clients will love the idea as the possibilties of the colour and effects combination are endless. This really is as far as bespoke nails you can give your clients with enamels.

I don't think it will be long before the other companies catch up and bring out their own ranges.
But like many times before, CND did it FIRST...!!:lol::lol:

And yet Samantha still managed to look as beautiful as ever  :irked:

Huge congrats Liza

Well as for the colour effects, we weren't there for long, but there long enough to see how fab they are.

It was lovely to meet up with those of you I got to chat to, and to see the lovely Kelly again (must be sick of me now twice in one week would put anyone off lol)
shame it was so quick though. we kind of snuck in at about 5.15pm, traffic up there is manic lol

And then as lovely as always to see the other girls too in the sweet shop...little bunch of stars those girls

And thankyou Samantha for making us feel so welcome right at the end when you must have been totally shattered mwahxxx

Now for the colours OMG you guys will love them! The colour goes on beautifully in just one coat, I couldn't believe how well.
The brush seems to hold just the right amount and distributes it evenly as you glide your brush over the nail...

From what I have seen so far I love them, and I know clients will love them too !

I'm just scared to show them the possibilities incase we can't get them out of the salon again lol

Oh, they sound great. Can't wait until December when I will have finished my Nail Care course and will be able to buy them.

Hmmm now if i'm not mistaken-shouldn't this be a blog!

Congrats to CND for introducing what sounds like an interesting new concept!

I'm intrigued though - do salons in the UK have success selling polish? No-one nail tech I've met in Sweden has had any success - we seem to attract customers who want French or natural, and then don't want to put polish on top.

OPI here now sells it's polish through a big department store chain (similar to Debenhams) - presumably because not enough sales through salons.

I guess CND must be selling polish to make this investment, but I just wonder where and how. Just being nosey!

To my way of thinking, Sweden has always been the 'natural' country along with Denmark and Norway. Frankly I'm surprised that you can sell the concept of nail art they are so conservative there. Must be a new generation of young ones who are as blingey as in other parts of the world. In the past there was huge resistance to enhancements in your part of the world (from the 'authorities' anyway).

You sell polish if you wear polish at the table and if you love polish.

Polishes and treatments used to be my number one retail sale in the salon followed by solar Oil (of course ).

Here in Spain, very many of the clients wear polish on their nails. Many of the older clients wear it all the time as they do not want French as their husbands don't like it (funny how older men do not seem to like French ... is it the porn star connection or what?) and many of the young ones love to play with colour too using it for different French looks etc. that they can change quickly and easily themselves.

And have you forgotten FEET, Bob?? lol We do tonnes of pedicures in Spain (all year round) and all clients want polish on their toes (or Minx) some sort of colour anyway.

Polish is by no means something that is hard to sell in our market anyway. CND have got this right. For the salons that do not get behind polish selling, it is still a vast collection of colours and effects for very little outlay and no guessing the colours that you THINK might sell ... it makes perfect sense both from a stock point of view and practically endless choices for clients. No salon can afford to not have a stock of polish choices for their clients ... this is a very affordable way to have a huge selection that does not take up a huge space nor make a huge hole in the pocket!

Oh? That sounds interesting  I just wonder what kind of 'resistance' there was esp. from the 'authorities'... ))

I suppose you can sell nail-art in Sweden just as anywhere else if you find the right approach.

Conservative as they may be, I believe, for instance, you can very well sell bridal nail-art to people up there ;)

Some years ago during the time of concerns about BP in the powder of L&P enhancements Denmark would not even allow the sale of L&P in the country ... of course all the L&P technicians used it anyway (secretly) .. until Doug Schoon and CND got involved and convinced them that they were not understanding of the facts about nail enhancements ... We ALL actually have them to thank for saving the whole nail industry in Europe .. though not many people really know about it.

This was actually due to an unintended consequence of the EU's prohibition on Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) in cosmetic products. Even though BPO is used widely in OTC face cleansers in the US, the EU wanted to ensure it was only being used via prescription. The unintended side effect was that the powders used in L&P applications (which are classified as cosmetics) used BPO safely as a catalyst. Many lame ass distributors of non L&P products in certain EU countries leveraged this situation to their advantage and successfully screwed sales of L&P in these countries for quite some time. Doug Schoon (and others) spent a great deal of time informing the appropriate authorities of the facts and the EU happily sorted out the situation.

Anyhooo... We are way off topic here... I'm chuffed you came and had a great day! But as was pointed out earlier, this really should have been a blog (and a great one at that!) :)
