I personally think its more down to the quality of the gel as opposed to the properties. I would rather use a good quality soak off gel than a rubbish quality buff off on a person that is hard on their nails, any day!
I'm lucky that I have found both a great quality soak off and a great quality buff off to offer in my portfolio, and then I do a thorough consultation with the client beforehand to see which will suit. If the client is looking to re-book in 2-3 weeks for rebalance, then I use a buff off gel. if the clients wishes to try a colour or art and then change, or perhaps is only looking for special occasion nails and is honest to say they won't be keeping them up, then I use a soak off gel and offer a removal service with mancure, which is taken up reasonably frequently. More money for me and far better than picking them off!
So for me....I wouldn't choose. I would say that to be able to offer what all my clients need, I am happy I offer both buff off and soak off.
