I have a bookmark with a little poem on it.

I thought maybe I should share it.... It's sort of a 'mantra' with me

Don't Quit

Don't quit when the tide is lowest,
For it's just about to turn'
Don't quit over doubts and questions,
For there's always something you may learn.

Don't quit when the night is darkest,
For it's just a while 'till dawn;
Don't quit when you've run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.

Don't quit when the hill is steepest,
for your goal is almost nigh;
Don't quit, for your not a failure
Until you fail to try.

Good one Victoria, I need to imprint that in my head!

Great one Victoria

It reminds me of the "IF" peom by Rudyard Kipling. I heard it first on the Film "Mike Bassett - England Manager". Its starts with:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you: and so on and so on.

But it has stuck with me ever since.

they are great motivators some times these poets arent they.

I hope this stick in my head over the next week or so. that was lovely. thanks for a that wee bit of inspiration!!!!

Yep love this one Victoria infact I sent it to a good friend only last week :)

I know a slightly different version, which my amazing granny used to carry in her purse her entire life. Her husband died when she was 40 leaving her with 7 young kids, no other family around and no income!! - must have been beyond devastating but she always said this poem was a great help to her when things were at there worst.......brings a tear to my eye!!!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
That you must not quit.

What amazing women, those are two truly inspirational poems. thank you ladies
