Hi , Ive had a call today from an old lady , not sure how old she is at the moment, wanting extensions. She says she has had them before.Ive done a search just to see if there was anything I had to be aware of,just seems all I can find is ,I have to be carefull if shes diabetic. Is there anything else I have to be aware of , or just do them as normal.Thanks.:)

Hi,
I have a 77 year old lady who has extensions, and has had them for a year now, she loves hers and has no problems at all.
HTH

The one thing I can think of is that sometimes the surrounding tissue is a bit more delicate, so be extra careful when doing your prep and using your abrasives.

i have several customers over 70 who have nail extensions, i have never had a problem with any of them. they also look after them very well. go for it i say
hth xx

Ooops, please don't call them 'elderly', older clients sound better...I'm just imagining what my lot would say:eek:

Last week there were three regular enhancement clients all sitting side by side ranging from 77 - 84, the conversation was absolutely hilarious, and very enlightening too!!!!!

Our eldest enhancement client is 91 on her birthday next month!

Follow the advice that has been given re skin being a little more tender and enjoy some learning about life:lol::lol::lol:

This is all you have to be extra careful about. My mum has been wearing them constantly ever since she was my model on my foundation course. She's 83 this year and makes a note of when she's 'Due' in her diary, even though we live in the same house. She says she wouldn't be without them now and has a custom blend once a fortnight! :)

Cool , thanks for your replys , looking forward to meeting my new ...older client next week now.

Mature ladies just make the best clients ever.

  • They are a delight to be with.
  • They are always polite and appreciative.
  • They care and look after their hands and nail enhancements.
  • Their nail growth is slow so there is not much to the maintenance.
  • They take your advice AND
  • They love a hug now and again.
I wish all clients were like them.

I so agree with this I have a few mature ladies who love their enhancements and will keep getting them done no matter what, one lady broke her shoulder I asked her if she wanted me to remove them until she was able to move a bit better she shot me down so quick she said she loved them to much and couldn't do without them.
It wasnt the easiest thing rebalancing when her arm was strapped to her stomach, trying to get it in the lamp was the worst:eek:

I also feel many of they love the one on one time with you many of their families have moved away so they may be a little lonely.

My best clients are my wonderful mature ladies:hug::hug:

So if their nail growth is slower should I book her in for a 3 week infill, instead of 2 ? Or I might just ask how long she was going before. She wore them till she had an op about a year ago, so hopefully she will become a regular ,if I play my cards right.

Maybe my mum is the exception to the rule, but her nails grow every bit as fast as those of a woman half her age. You'll find out at her first rebalance. :)

There are always exeptions to the rule but generally speaking, nail growth slows after the age of 50.

I'm an exception too .. I need a rebalance every 2 weeks .. I don't always get it but I need it. :green:
