Hi all, just need a bit of advice. As of recent the demand for coloured and nail tips have become very popular with me. Im a mobile tech and try to get the most unique and fun stock i can possible get my hands on. The salons in my area only cater for natural or white tips. I don't charge very much for full sets £20.00 with natural or white tips however i have been charging the same for the coloured tips too. Just need feedback on if any of you guys charge more for white or fun/coloured and chevron shaped tips etc . . . . . Thanks x

i cant really give you advice on prices cos im not experienced but it does sounds to me like you undercharge yourself on the whole...when i think about how i might charge people in the future...for one..my views on being mobile are that travelling to someones house to give them a service of any kind is a luxury..i would expect to charge them above average prices...a) on principle and b) to cover fuel and car expenses etc...not to mention all the effort in lugging all your kit about! If they dont want to pay the extra..they will hopefully come to me!
Also anything that is 'fancier' such as chevron tips/designer/coloured tips/art etc etc i would consider that to be an extra on top of a set of enhancements....kind of like ordering a basic pizza and ordering extra toppings...you wouldnt expect the extra toppings to be free would you! Sorry about the analogy but thats what sprung to mind! food and nails...always on the brain! haha

I agree with xAnnaBannax... sure you have to charge for what you are worth! It's your time, your products! You didn't get them from an apple tree in your back yard :wink2:
So imagine, if you give away your nail art like that, people will get used to it and demand for it, and you know it's not always just a few thingies that you lay in your acrylic, what about hand free painting and things like that?
I charge around 35 € for a full set, around 20 € for rebalances or naturals with overlay. For one nail with nail art (glitter and little flowers or stuff), I charge around 0,6 € and if they want all 10 of them, it's 7 times more one nail. And if I do nail art with coloured gel (acrylic paint in your case), the price is double. So who want's, he gets. Those paints and glitters and stuff costs money, and you surely don't have just one, you have to have more so they can choose from... and those dotting tools and art brushes and stuff... ah... $$$!
I'm not trying to be rude or unconsiderate, but nail art is not bread and butter, so if someone wants it, so....
And as for glitter tips, I don't know how much you pay for those, but surely do incorporate that in your price. I pay much more for mine than I do for usual tips, so it's not always just a 'shortcut' to nail art.

Thanks so much for your advice. I have been told so many times that im too cheap - and thats come from paying customers. I guess im scared that when i increase my prices i may loose custom. I just really enjoy what i do. x

If you increase your prices you will only lose cheap clients but you will replace them with clients that appreciate good hard work and value your worth,
so you will gain in the end hun hth

Well you have to price your self for your area, town center Northampton £20 a set:irked: now this is just for your bog standard white tip and clear acrylic but its our yard stick here. Coloured tips cost more so yes I would add £2 or £3 per set for these. I hope this helps:hug:

Remember that your prices are like a reflection on you..pricing yourself too cheap is kind of like saying..you dont think your that good or you dont think your nails are worth that much etc. Never under sell yourself or your work x

Hi! Currently I am getting $75 a set for the logo nails I bought on www.Trenditips.com as for the colored and chevron nails I get $40. My salon is in Los Angles, CA. here is a set I did on a client hands and feet. Pucci on fingers, fendi on the toes. I got $120 for the set!
