There have been a few therapists on here say it is hairwell and then my daughter had an HD party for herself and friends and the HD brow specialist left the empty tubes in our bin and it was Hairwell used with creme peroxide.

No i have never tried the tint i use Refectocil always found this the best but i may try using a creme peroxide which i never have before i think it was Kim that said it can give better results on eyebrows.

HOF is House of Famuir a very good beauty wholesalers.

Refectocil do both a creme hydrogen peroxide and a liquid one. I personally prefer the creme one :) it produces great results

Wow this is a varied repsponse, I am a HD Stylist, have been for a year and now I am working 5-6 days a week, full time doing just HD Brows! Also, I am now training to become a HD Brows Trainer at MK. It is a fantastic course, nothing magic happens, just very good techniques based on shaping/styling of brows whether you have really over-plucked brows, or thick natural bushy brows. There is not one set HD Brows template, clients can have thick/thin, arched/flat, dark/light. On the course you learn lots about technique, and face shapes, muscle movement, positioning etc. Along with the marketing and branding of HD Brows. It is all about a good thorough consultation with your clients, and aftercare. There are many HD Brows branded products clients can choose to purchase to help with aftercare and maintenance inbetween appointments. It is not just a 'brow shape' it is more of an experience like going to the hairdressers, to style your brows. So many people have over-plucked brows, it gives those clients a chance to have an amazing treatment, and educate them to grow hairs in the correct place by being put on a re-growth programme, with aftercare. I think if you are seriously interested, get more information for head office, and book an appointment to see a local stylist to ask a few more questions? We are not in 'competition' with each other, we all work together and support each other once your join the HD Brow family! Good luck to any of you hoping to train, and please feel free to ask me any questions you may have x

Hi Laura

I have been considering HD Brows for awhile but I wondered Im not training in threading or waxing at the moment and wondered if the course is suitable for me? I know after any short course I will need some guinea pigs (I mean willing volunteers) but what I wondered is, is the course in-depth enough for me to feel confident to carry out as a service?

Thanks

Great thread with great debate!

FAD for sure had mine today paid £30.00 and not impressed at all :( xxxxxxx

i have done a eyebrow definition course which is exactly the same steps as HD brows and only cost £102 at Captial Hair and Beauty. i can already wax tint pluck and so on the only part i could nt do was thread. i would not pay 100s of pounds for the hd course. It is only a brand you are paying for. As long as you dont use the name hd brows there is nothing they can do. you may be able to copy right a name but you cannot copy right a treatment. i have had 15 bookings this week i charge £20 for Eyebrow Definition.

hi sara, what was the training like at capital, am looking into doing a course for eyebrows but not sure who or which one to do

Guys I need a bit of help here, a client came in for an EB Wax on Saturday and asked if I do HD (or my version of) which I don't but as we were chatting I'd already noticed she had very thin brows to start with which were quite well maintained. I asked her what she wanted out of the HD brows look and she said she wanted them to look darker and thicker.

So, darker - fine, I get that, but given that the tint won't stay on the skin how on earth do you get them to look thicker for any length of time?? Am I missing someting with the tint? Do you leave it on for longer or something?

I'd be really grateful for any help, she's coming back in on Tuesday for a manicure so I'd like to be able to give her more info on where is best for her to go if I can

Tbh I have never done this myself but after reading previous threads you tint the skin but leave it on longer. Make up is then applied to the brow but the tint on the skin only lasts for 24hrs?

I hope I've got this right!! xx

Thanks for that, pretty much what I thought. It seems a bit like the wizard of oz to me, all a bit smoke and mirrors and as much to do with good make up application and choices than waxing/tweezing/threading etc. For some people at least.

xx

Fad! It's just a brand craze that people are desperate to try! Nothing that a great beautician couldn't achieve at half the price! Mine didn't last and I found that the hairs of my actual brows started to grow back a bit wiry! A girl told me hers did and I didn't know what she meant until mine did too!

If you care to take a look at the countless other threads that I have contributed to regarding HD Brows, you will see that I am all in favour of the course.
What annoys me intensely is people banging on about other therapists not being able to achieve this shape without doing the HD Brows course.
This is incredibly insulting to therapists who are more than capable of doing the HD Brow shape and have done so for a long time.
I am always honest with my replies and say things as they are. I am not going to lie.
There are people, probably like yourself, who have maybe not had great training in the first place and so when they do the course they learn something new, for them. It is not new to a lot of therapists though and to say that experienced therapists don't know about brows unless they have been on this course, is quite frankly downright rude.

Second that

the course was pretty much good. i would nt recommend it for someone who has no experience in the field but i personally think you cant train to do the treatments will do in a day its too much to learn.

yes you tint the skin which they show how to do.

Just wondering if anyone has done the "Wow! Brows Two Day Definition Course" with Euro products in Belfast? I am really interested in the HD Brow course, but dont know if I can justify paying that much. this is what was on the web site. what do ye think?

Prerequisites: Level 2 Anatomy and Physiology

Cost: £375 / €450 + VAT

Professional therapists need to be on the cutting edge of the beauty industry to stay ahead of the competition. It’s no longer enough to offer ‘an eyebrow wax’. Stylish and increasingly well informed customers are looking for a beauty transformation and their eyes and brows are the key to the looks they’re after. Whether it’s brows that are sexy, elegant, polished, neat or just plain beautiful this course will give you the tools to offer that elusive WOW!

WOW! Brows is a two day course delivered by our industry established brow experts and is fully accredited by The Guild, AIT, ABT and Professional Beauty Direct.

Course Contents:

· An Introduction to the power of eyebrow shaping.

· Anatomy – the theory behind the skin, hair and related diseases and disorders.

· Health and Safety – A safe framework in which to offer the treatment.

· Client Consultation – Understanding what your client wants and what they can hope to achieve.

· What Brow? – Analysis of face shapes and brow structure.

· Demonstration – A look at what you will be able to offer by the end of the following day.

· The Toolkit for Transformation – Waxing, Threading, Tweezing, Trimming and Tinting.

· Hands on experience of the techniques learned

Course Objectives:
We will take you through the foundations of client consultation and preparation and leave you equipped to read the client’s face shape and contours to offer the appropriate treatment. You will then be ready to apply new skills and understanding of tinting, waxing and the ancient art of threading to sculpt and highlight the brow before pulling the look together for maximum effect.

Certificates will be issued on successful completion.

A light lunch will be provided with refreshments.

My commercial antenna is calling HD brows as a fad. Training costs are high because they know their "moment" is gonna be brief.

Agreed!
This is a fad that will go as fast as it came! In my opinion I don't like HD Brows, I think they look really false, I prefer the brows to be perfect but natural looking it's more attractive, my clientele think the same!
