Hi geeks,

Sorry not a very interesting thread.....but theres one thing i havent quite accomplished yet in advertising and that is having my own website!

By the looks of it, this seems to help most nail technicians with gaining some clients so i thought it might be worth a try.

Question is, how do i go about doing this? What website company have you geeks gone with to help promote your business? Do you have to design it by yourself? Is it a one of fee that you have to pay or do you have to pay monthly?

I haven't got a clue, can anyone advise?

Thanks guys,
love charl xx

Hi! There are lots of Free websites if you feel up to making your own, a lot of the geeks here have done this. But if you need help and want someone to make one for you, you could give Seanny (he's a memeber here) a shout - he's built websites for quite a lot of the Geeks here and I'm sure they'll be happy to give you their honest opinions. His prices are very reasonable and all the websites he builds are optimised to be search engine friendly -

here's a link to some sites he's built

Hey Hun

first off I had a freewebs one, totally free but it has banner ads etc on it and the address is freewebs.com/your website which i felt wasnt quite as professional, although you can upgrade to more advanced service with them i think

then another geek suggested microsoft office live, I love it, totally free (first two years i think) and small monthly fee after that, very easy to design and good helpline too

Office Live for me too, hope the PM helped x

Mine cost me £3 per year it's only one page and my husband said it was very easy to set up.

All you need to do is sign up for a domain and the one page site is free.

1&1 Internet Ltd.

I have had mine hosted by WEBBTEKK out of Massachusetts.
I have tons of space and their easy to deal with!
If you check them out, let them know you heard it from My Nails Rock!

You can purchase Namo WebEditor from a pc retailer like PC World for about £18.00. It gives you templates to build your own website and is very straight forward to use. I have used this to produce two websites and would recommend if you want to try having a go for yourself.

I used 123-reg.co.uk brought my domain name and used their templates etc, think its cost me £15 a year in total for a really smart looking site which I can update as often as I want and you can have up to 10 pages and a personalised email address, and SEO which is always good.

Mine is with Make Your Own Website and it costs about £30 a year. i'm just updating mine at the moment, but it is really easy to do and has lots of website design templates.

Hi All,

I have just registered - I am a Virgin Vie Consultant. Flicking through these forums I came across this thread - my husband is a web designer and he specialises in designing websites for small businesses. If anyone is interested have a look at his website Shaker Web Design - Affordable website solutions

If you need any help I'll be more than happy to help you build it. I do own a few online magazines, one of them it's LNG Nails | Long Nails, Long Fingernails, Since 1996 and we can work on a platform that will be easy for you to update it yourself, as if you're using Microsoft Word.

In addition, as a new member on the community, I would like to thank you for the welcome messages. Also to everyone who wants to boost their traffic I would like to do my bid and offer to advertise you free of charge on LNG Nails, feel free to pm me. The website attracts approximately 60% traffic from USA and the rest is from Europe, we get approximately 55.000 to 80.000 page views every week. For more stats or any info feel free to pm me, or email me at: admin"at"lngnails.co.uk (replace "at" with @)

Kind Regards
