Hi geeks, yesterday I decided to buy some non strip wax for my bikini line.. I haven't plucked up the courage to do it since giving birth to my daughter 9 months ago and always found hot wax much less painful.. I haven't used hot wax since training 5-6 years ago And I found that every strip i done it broke as soon as I went to pull! Iv left the wax to harden etc.. Is there any important points that I'm forgetting?! Thanks in advance.. Christine

You do not really need it to harden as such you need to put it on wait for the shine to slightly go off the top press it in and take off.If you leave it too long it will harden too much. Also are you putting it on too thinly i remember we would use fairly large wooden spoons and get a reasonable amount on in one go which is now a bit harder to do when using spatulas but it can be done if your wax isnt too runny and you work quickly.
There are also different qualities of hot wax as there are other waxes. Some will work at a much lower temperature and are not so brittle so try a few.
You may find hot film wax better for you if you have been used to strip wax as you can put it on much thinner in a similar way to strip and it remains flexible for much longer than hot wax.
If you do a search on here you will find the companies that sell the hot film wax and recommendations.

Thanks gillian x

I agree with Gillian, its hard to say why your wax strips are breaking but it could be the type of wax. If you go for a newer generation non-strip wax you will find that the wax remains flexible as long as it is on the skin so it will never break, crack or go brittle, and as long as you use a bit of oil underneath you should be fine.

Likewise you can try cream wax which can also work a treat for the bikini line
