Just watched a tut on drilling smile lines... in the video she was holding the drill like she was about to peel an apple or something like that..... I was taught to use it like a pen.... but have been having trouble getting the smile even at times... normally on those clients who have fingers made of steel!... also i noticed that she started from the side wall and went around,... I always start in the middle!.....

any tips would be great..... now i just want to attach my nails and see the difference...

thanks for anyone one who replys.
X Mel

I use mine both ways, depends how i'm feeling that day lol

I will have to give it a go.... guess it depends on how much you can move your clients hands around...
those , can i say, asian NNS have scared alot of clients from damage that they have caused... most freak out when i bring the drill out...

also what drill bit do you use.,,, i have a standard 4 week back fill but any ideas would be good.

I hold mine like a vegie peeler, I find it gives me more control.
I only use it to take out the smile line (it makes it really crisp) and I don't use it on the surface of the nail either (I use brush and application skills), it seems a waste to use an efile on such an already good suface.

i hold mine like a pen, with it resting on my middle finger and use my pinky finger (on the same hand) as a balance against my clients finger

im intrigued to see how its held like a potato/veg peeler??

well thats cool! ive never seen anyone hold their drill like that before.

Mr Zoo is always different:green:

I was taught to use the e-file so that when you are working the drill bit is flat against the nail,
not to hold it like a pen and work with the tip of the drill bit hth
