the big 40 is creeping up on me ..
didnt think i wanted to celebrate it at first, but i now feel i should do something, if only to mark the occasion
the problem is, money is really tight - dont want a party or anything flashy, just want to do something different and meaningful with a few friends and family
any ideas? what did you do? or am i the oldest kid on the block? lol
many thanks

Lying in a darkened room mourning the demise of my 30's was a cheap day for me lol!!!

Why not just have friends and family round at yours for drinks & nibblies and get them to bring old photos, mementos of your youth!!....if only to stop the darkened room scenario

Don't forget the black armband:lol:

How about dinner for a few with a 40 helium balloon tied to each chair :)

Depending on exactly what month it is how about a family picnic somewhere not too far and take a cricket or rounders set.

What about having a party at yours and the theme being the sixties and everyone has to come dressed up and bring a dish with them too. That's what one of my friend's did and it was a brilliant night. :)

hi thanks for the lovely ideas ..
izzidoll, might not be a bad idea .. my bro in law hit 40 last year and keeps winding me up, saying it "dark" the other side, lol !!
my bday is in april, the day before easter - i wonder if i could be forgiven for gorging on half a dozen easter eggs before lying down in that darkened room, lol !!
keep the ideas coming girls
