So Carl - how have these cures changed your life then?

Have you been taking this Carl ? and if so was it for any specific reason ? (if I may ask)

I had a cold on Friday and made cinnamon and honey brew (I used Manuka honey) and it was gone on Monday. (Fastest I have ever recovered)

It is quite pleasant to drink and i'm going to continue to drink it (it's a lovely nightcap)

It hasn't changed my life at all, but I like the science behind it .... Honey is a very underated medicine and has been used since the beginnning of time/honey.

I'm willing to give it a go.

I agree i think many of the old wives and natural remedies really have a basis in fact and truly work.
Look at aspirin the active ingredient being salycilic acid which is from the bark of a tree and look what thats capable of.
Its all very interesting.I keep meaning to try the local honey remedy for my hay fever in stead of resorting to anti histamine every year.

my mum used to make this syrup stuff using brown sugar and onions (something else too i think but cant remember what)...its was lovely and always made me feel better when i had a cough cold.

Interesting stuff. My mother-in-law (who is normally as mad as a box of frogs!) bought some Manuka honey for my son to see if it would help his often severe eczema. Only problem was that he didn't like the taste and refused to have it.

Perhaps I ought to mix some up with cinnamon then?

ah Nailzoo(carl) interesting thread...i like all that natural remedies ..i'm an aromatherapist ..i must say the flowers, herbs, roots ect.. that all these essential oils are made from have very interesting results for many problems internally(which i don't participate) and externally(which i do parcitipate) although a skilled doctor\practioneer in internal administration of these oils has more skill and knowledge is only qualified to do such natural health administration..my mum has sworn the use of evening primrose oil internally for years and at the age of 80 she has good skin, healthy nails, never had much problems with her eyesight and still has her own natural colour of hair(with the exception of a single wave of silvery on her fringe)..due to her medications she takes evening primrose daily to stop the adverse effects. speaking of colds i do agree that these remedies can cure the common cold in 24 hrs especially ones containing honey..ive done it myself using honey remedies instead of pumping myself full of paracetamols and lemsips "Hot toddy" my dad called them were done using a small drop of whisky a few teaspoons of honey and warm milk it wasn't very nice but it did get rid of it.

i use this site for some inspiration & research
Essential Oils Used In Aromatherapy

im a honey lover and like having a slice of bread slathered in the stuff but certinally going to look into using manuka honey for my own personal use
