Hi All,

I recieved an email today inviting me to an "open day about beauty technology where you can see the ipod for hair, face and body that would help to improve your business by keeping the customers and bring new ones and reducing the electricity bill"

Does anyone know anything about this ipod thing?

I am tempted to go to the open day to find out more about it, would be great to get more information on it if I could.

i wonder what it could mean? def get back in touch with them and ask for some more info about it. looking forward to hearing what others say! x

After checking my appointment book & seeing I was booked til 8pm on Thurs 1st, I emailed the lady back saying, I couldnt attend that night &,

"Sounds very interesting though, do you have any other open days on this?
What is the ipod for hair, face & body called? Can you tell me about it?
Are they availble to buy on the night?
How excatly can it improve a business by keeping customers & bring new ones?"

She replied with a list of dates & said I would get all the answers to my questions at the end of the presentation  which is 6-9pm!!!

Before I comit to a 3 hour open day I really would like to know a bit more about what this thing is, but she clearly doesnt want to answer my questions, not sure what to say in the reply email to her

Hopefully some fellow geeks will know something - I did a search first & there is nothing on it at the moment. xxx

I think they're usng "ipod" as a metaphor.

Marketing types often say products are "ipod-like", meaning they're revolutionary or market-changing devices.

They rarely are mind you.

Quite frankly, I wouldnt touch it with a barge-pole, sounds like that type of time-share scam where they try and herd you into a "meeting" to sell you things you dont want.

we def know you have no problem keeping your clients miss i'm booked right up untill 8pm :p

you are right, your manner and the quality of your treatments should be able to get your clients coming back, i don't know what could get your clients coming back that you can't do yourself? who did the email come from? how did they get your email address? i love how nothing has been said about money! we've all said it's something to be avoided, but i am SO interested in knowing what this great idea is that no doubt somebody will end up being conned/tricked into buying/using! x

The email came from a lady called Florentina Munteanu, she sent me the email via my website, where the open day is held is just down the road from the salon, so guess she must of googled salons in the area.
I know, I would love to know how much it is.
Missconfused - if you want me to forward you the emails from her PM your email address.
 I might try googling her name!

Would certainly be interested in hearing what it is too - especially if it happens to be IT related ;)

Call me a cynic but I would place money on it being either-

a) a scam.
b) a rubbish hardware based booking system.
c) a combination of both.

If I had a fantastic system that'd revolutionise business I wouldnt invite people to odd "meetings" and act so secretive!

*closes his electric crayon box to watch the football.....

I do wonder... I also wonder why they said it would save electricity...

Well here is an update.......

I sent an email back saying;
"Before I commit to attending one of the below open day dates, I would need to know a little bit more about this "ipod of hair, face & body".
As I hope you understand 3 hours to take off work for something I know nothing about is not really visable
Can you tell me what this is called & how it works please?"

To which I got a reply saying;
"Sorry for my short email and for the fact that I did not give you the info about this ipod (called ageLOC Edition Nu Skin Galvanic Spa System II) but I am very busy everyday and for me is more easy to explain all this info face to face to a group of people and show them the results after 10 min of demo treatment. Also the demo is only 30 min so you do not have to commit for 3 hours the program include a demo with the galvanic and after that would be a business presentation and at the end people that would like to get this technology they would get the forms. This time I would do an exception but only because you are a beauty specialist like me, so please check the attach file for a full presentation with all the info that you need and let me know if you are interested about this.
The only way to purchase this technology is directly from me or from another Nu Skin Representative so I would be happy to help with this issue.
Also you can find more about me on facebook where I send you a friend request also.
I wish you all the best and I hope to talk with you or to see you soon."

So geeks what are your thoughts on this?
I still no nothing on prices!
I have also attached the links below too that was sent on the reply email;

As quoted from this site: NuSkin Enterprises - A Scam Or A Great Opportunity

To Start Out With The Pros
NuSkin Enterprises is a health and wellness company, and they focus specifically on anti-aging - actually, the product they are known for is a device used to help remove wrinkles, called Galvanic Spa. NuSkin Enterprises has been around for a while now. Actually the company was founded back in 1984, and it has grown into a publicly traded network marketing company. NuSkin also has many companies under its wing, e.g. Photomax and Big Planet. This company is, as you know now, a network marketing company and therefore it does not only provide these health and wellness products, they also offer a business opportunity. You can start growing your own NuSkin Enterprises business by becomming a distributor and sell these products and also find new distributors. This is exactly why this company has become worth over $1B with more than 750.000 distributors and customers.
Overall, NuSkin Enterprises looks like a great company with good products and the opportunity to grow your own business.
Now To The Cons NuSkin
Enterprises has come to where it is today by using the same techniques and methods that every network marketing company is using. Now why is this a bad thing? Because the things people are told to do it work their warm market, talk to friends and family and grow your business that way - this is what causes the 95 % high failure rate! The company is growing, but the distributors are failing - at least most of them. Also, you are told to give people samples, so they can try the product and the product will sell itself - NOT true. Nothing will ever sell itself, and the same goes for the products that NuSkin Enterprises provides. So, the techniques you are told to use are flat out NOT working.
To Come To A Conclusion NuSkin
Enterprises is NOT a scam, and you can certainly succeed with it. With that said, it will not happen by working your warm market and all that stuff. You have to learn how to market effectively to be able to grow your business. So if you want to take advantage of this opportunity, do it - but be aware that it WILL take time and you have to learn how to do it right. If you don't want to spend time to learn and later grow your business, you should just use their products.

From a personal note: someone tried to sell me this stuff once......... WAAAAAAAAAY over priced imo

Thank you for all that information Victoria, you sure do know a lot about it!:D
Out of curiousity can you tell me roughly what it costs please? x

Actually, I don't know a lot about it. But Google is a WONDERFUL THING hehehe

I just remember being flabbergasted at the prices.
Keep in mind, I'm in Canada and not the UK, so things are different.

sorry I can't be of more help.

This machine is pointless for a professional as the public can buy it and use it, regardless of whether it works or not!!

If that's the case, then it might as well be branded "Rio" and available from the Argos catalogue ;)

You've hit the nail on the head there Ruth! :D

Thanks for that link Carl :D it didnt take long too find the price out, I guess it would work out approx £300 ish
Which Weezie & Ruth are totally right in saying there is no point in getting something a client could buy!
That "Rio" comment made me laugh, so true! :D x
