Hi guys

Just trying out shellac on a staff member before opening today, I got my kit but no instructions :-( I telephoned CND yesterday who said base coat 10se colour 2min, colour 2min top 2min. Ive done that but there really really sticky? Im i suposed to use anything on each coat after curing to remove sticky?

Mx

Brill Thanks

Im using the CND lamp hunx

whats d.sperse IPA solution I only have the d-colour and d-remover?

d-sperse contains alcohol which you need to use to remove the inhibition layer once the final layer of shellac has been cured.
If you use anything containing Acetone you will start to break down the whole application.

You can not use either d-colour or d-solve to do this.

aghhhhhhh its out of stock why on earth dont they advice you when you order!!

Ok Im sorry but if I was buying a completely new product I didn't know anything about I would have researched all about it first before I placed an order.

The girls at S2 aren't there to take people through a step by step guide unless they are asked!

d-sperse is at the moment being changed so that it is more officiant at removing the inhibition layer as it was not originally formulated for Shellac.

There are hundreds of threads on here and the Shellac group go read all of these and Im sure any further questions you have will be answered.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing.

Also, what if you already had somethig like Isopropyl Alcohol and were going to use that. Then S2 said, "Oh, you need D.Sperse. Let me just add that to your order." you would have been like WTF!

I bought somethig from Comet last weekend and the guy said, "You need a scart lead, I'll just get one for you." Me, "Eh, no you won't. I've got tons at home!"

Its called customer service at the moment, I had not actually phoned up to specificically order it, i phoned up for more info and the operator stated there was a start pack I could purchase with everything i need including instructions! You dont have to force a product on anyone, she could have said "do you have some d-sperse as you will need that to remove the layer" and I would have took it! You should never just assume! as you wouldnt with your customers would you!

If I had 24 customers waiting in a phone queue, in their interest to give good customer service and not keep them waiting too long, I might have just not thought about that one. :D

The way I see it, you are assuming quite allot yourself. You are assuming perhaps that you are the only one talking in the queue to that phone operator? You are assuming That maybe there is only one customer care person in the office? (there are 6 full time customer service reps on the phone). You know what ASSume does right?

Cut the girls a little slack OK guys? They are working flat out and doing a fantastic job at the order processing. They know it is irritating for anyone waiting in a queue but please everyone is doing the very best they can at the moment when it is all going crazy. A little patience would be appreciated by all the girls.

The men in the warehouse as well are working like mad so that you get your orders pronto they also deserve a massive round of applause all the time. Way to go team.

Brilliant Bezza thanks so much for the advice much appreciated.

Geeg - Sometime a little un biassed advice wouldnt go amiss. I appreciate the girls work flat out, but sure customer care is paramount, i know it is in my bussiness. As you say ASSuming the customer know exactley what they want isnt always the right way either!!! Also I dont think the two seconds it would have taken to ask if i had the other product would have held the cue up longer, especially when its my FIRST order of the product, I could understand if i had used it previously.

I dont want to get into a slagging match so hopefully we can agree to disagree, I come to the forum for unbiased advice not to be repremanded.

Many thanks again Bezza x

If you call it a reprimand then so be it. Sorry you see it that way .. I call it asking nicely for a bit of understanding and patience at this incredibly busy time.

Yeah!! Good that you are sticking up for the staff

I couldn't do any other but defend them , Debbie (although they do not really need defending) .. our co workers are who S2 are .. they reflect the S2 culture every minute of every day .... I actually could not do what they do ( as I'm sure everyone will understand lol). Patient, polite and helpful doesn't really begin to describe them. Great people.

When I got thinking about it, I realized anyway that the reason D-Sperse probably wasn't mentioned is because it flew out the door so fast and won't be in stock until next week. So they must have done plenty of recommending!! lol
In the meantime there are alternatives that ARE listed (in an unbiased way lol) right here on the site.

Thanks, Debbie for the support. It's very nice to have it sometimes.xx

I work in retail and deal with people day in day out. I treat people with the respect that I would liked to be treated with. Sometimes people don't feel well and lash out, but hey don't we all need a hug sometimes

Go to cnd.com look at the shellac products and there is a small link to step by step instructions...very helpful :)

Well,, I LOVE them all at Sweet Squared. Whether I hve to wait in a queue or not! I always have a laugh and a giggle with them! They were absolutely brilliant the other day when I had to phone and sort out a delivery problem. Very happy and helpful!

As for orders,,,,new stuff,,,,,do your research, read up on it loads and then you will know what you need. Can't say there isn't enough help and advise on this site!!

And there's always that one person I go to for straight answers when I need help! ;-)
She very appreciated in my book!

I can't comment on S2's service as I use the Fingertips Centre in Edinburgh.

what I can comment on is the research I completed before purchasing Shellac!

1) I knew what Shellac was
2) I knew how it was applied
3) I knew what was in the kits
4) I knew roughly how much it was going to cost me
5) I knew everything I would need to complete a full service to my client
6) I knew how much to charge
7) I knew what colours were available
8) I knew what lamp I needed
9) I knew when I could order it

I could go on and on and on about what I knew before it was launched!!!

How did I find this out????????

I researched, asked questions, googled, called and emailed the distributors!

All of this prior to launch day!

Why did I know all this?

Because I took the time to find the information for myself I don't expect to be spoonfed!!!!!

so bring on the snidey or downright nasty comments for me daring to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

and before it is ASSumed I have too much time on my hands, I run a practically fully booked salon on my own (50 hours + a week), run a house with 2 kids, 2 dogs, and loads of after school activities.

so NO I am not Superwoman! Just a therapist who does what she needs to do to research my products and my market!

Rant over!!!!

p.s until Shellac I used Fingertips rarely as I do not offer L & P or Brisa, so you can bet your bottom dollar my opinions are completely UNBIASED!
