Hi guys, Sorry to keep bothering you today!

But Ive just had enough and now feel like giving up on nails.
At 9.30am i started on my left hand do practice on myself a full set on enhancements using Brisa.

I'm using formation tips i done full prep procedure and then shaped the formation tips where you take out the middle just as i was taught.

First stuck on my thumb then realised i lost one of the tips so i got another tip filed it down in the middle to get it into shape and whilst doing this managed to 'ping' off the thumb tip that was already stuck on.

So again had to find another thumb tip and do the whole procedure again!

Then stuck on thumb tip again and it was terribly wonky and looked horrid!

This took 1 and a half hours and i only manged to stick on 2 tips in 1 and half hours.

Im starting to think this career is not for me and its really upsetting and frustrating me so much Ive just given up now i am not getting anywhere.

What can i do? I feel utterly useless and like im trying to do something that im just not able to do.

I'd prepare all the tips first and then stick them on starting with the little finger and cut them off as you go.

I could sit here and give the usual ' aww hun don't give up blurb' but that's not going to help you is it ?

Only you can decide if you really want a future in nails.

I think if you give up this early on it either shows either you've found out it's just not for you or mayby a few years on you might just kick yourself for not keeping going.

If your really finding it too fustrating right now (considering other things going on in your life right now) mayby you shoud pack the kit up take a step back and leave it till your more ready.

It takes a LOT of practise and LOT of deep breaths (and the odd vodka/vallium combo ) to get it right.

If you really want this you will keep going.
Good luck in your decision.

I feel for you hun ! most of us have days like that in the begining :) one day you wont even think about it you just do it ! try again later relax and please just keep going

I really want this more than anything! This is my career and my life and my passion for nails is huge but with passion i need the ability to do it and i feel like i havent got the ability

that's why its so frustrating when you want something so bad and it goes all wrong

I really depends on how you were taught initially, perhaps you should do a one on one to regain confidence.

Nails should not "ping" off if they are put on properly, perhaps you should hold them longer, or make sure they fit better.

Last time i had training was around 2 weeks ago and since ive only done 1 set. Due to no bookings or no practice.

But in my training i created great nails none pinged off but as soon as im let loose by myself it just goes wrong

Heya invest in a nail trainer, they are worth every penny and are ur friend for life!!! you can practice to your hearts content and also get creative with the nail art too!! I felt like that when I was training i thaught my nails were hideouse/dont like the smell etc but I wanted it real bad like you do!!! If you are passionate you will succeed if you feel in a rut maby do some more training soon?xxxx

In a recent blog you said...
Justine was just the perfect trainer she was brilliant, covered everything i needed to know
So what's changed from then to now?
If you weren't able to do it then you wouldn't have passed your Brisa conversion.

Get yourself a trainer hand to practice on, do at least a full set on it every day if possible and if not possible then do as much as you can, but do it every day.

You will get out of it what you put in and to give up at this point seems a but ludicrous to me, especially after recently paying out to train with Brisa. You've got a fantastic product there, had excellent training and you're going to let a few bad tip applications stop you doing what you want to do?

Yeah justine was great, when she was here we did a set of nails on my sister and they were lovely, everything was so right with them.

But the minute i was left to my own devices i just mess up, havent a clue why or where im going wrong?

The thing is i dont want to give up not one bit, it just crosses my mind to think am i trying to do something that i just cant do? Is this even possible for someone to just not be able to do nails no matter how much good training?

The last thing i want is to give up but if i cant do it does that mean i just cant and never will?

I would advise you to delay a driving lesson or two and invest in a nail trainer, you can get them cheap enough on fleabay.

You're not practising enough IMO

You've said it again... and I'll say it again... if you couldn't do it then you wouldn't have passed your conversion.
Creative don't give a pass to someone for the sake of it.

This might seem harsh, but here goes anyway... Only you know whether you have the passion and determination to be a nail technician and to push yourself until you do get it right.
If you didn't think you were any good then why bother training recently?
You must have known you could do it otherwise it would have been a waste of money, right?

You've got a very negative attitude towards it and can't seem to see the positive side.
It's just a few dodgy tips you've done on yourself, it's not a client we're talking about here, you've already said how you can do nails on 'real people', so the problem lies with doing your own nails... practice and they will come right.

This may sound mad but I really think you are putting all your energy into getting it wrong then you get it wrong try stay positive and focus because I do think once you keep trying and get in right it will stay right.:)

Thank you for your help Sandi, I am going to try again after lunch.

Maneater i think you may be right i seem to have the attitude of 'oh well im going to get it wrong anyway' so now im going to tell myself i WILL get it right!

This time round instead of trying to do all 5 nails on one hand i might focus on one per time, what do you think?x

On the subject of the nail trainer and lack of funds....am positive geeg ha a ingenious idea of a cheap nail trainer (is there an end to Geegs talents?!!:green:) am pretty sure Chels had a similar way of doing it (littlegrohl) mods mods help me link it!! Cant find the dang thing now!

Also maybe have a little bit of time to work on self belief and confidence, YOU have to beieve in yourself before anyone else will, your recent achievments show others do believe you BUT its gotta come from within too.....

i believe geeg's idea was blu tac rolled into a sausage with a tip on?

il have a look about for the thread too! and edit if i find it!

and remember its always hardrer to do your own nails! when you put a clients tips on they dont have to pick anything up!

and i looked on ebay too, there are some ones going at good prices jsut now,

:)

It's a finger made out of blue tac..!!

Roll a piece of blue tac like the size of a finger. Then get a nail tip and stick it on the end with the free edge hanging out just like a 'nail plate'.

If you push the tip far enough in, then it kind of sinks into the blue tac providing you with the surrounding area of the tip as 'skin and eponychium'...!

Cheap and cheerful.
