Hi everyone
I have just done a hot wax course and loved it. I cant wait to get started. Gues who ended up have the hollywood !!! it didnt really hurt apart from the flicking.

Ok, so i was really please with the course and hope to order my hot wax very soon and start practising. In true me style i like to research everythin on hear and have found conflicting advice. I trained with hive and taught to use talc and also apply against the growthin the first layer and then thicken up.

I have noticed on here a lot of geeks like PR euroblonde and say it better than hive. ( could anyone explain the reasons?)Would like to get it but now wondering if i need to re train to do it their way or if i can get hints tip from here or a dvd and experiment myself. As i have ovioulsly trained when at college also with hive and very confident waxer. I just want to do it the best way possible.

What do you think??

Hi
I trained with Kim (Wax Queen) and she used Perron Rigot. I love this wax and now use it for all intimate waxing. It grips the short & curlies like nothing on earth........
As I haven't tried Hive, I can't compare. Why don't you get some PR & roadtest it for yourself ? Then you'll know if it's for you. :)

Hi everyone
I have just done a hot wax course and loved it. I cant wait to get started. Gues who ended up have the hollywood !!! it didnt really hurt apart from the flicking. To avoid the flicks from hurting... drag the wax onto a hair free part of skin ... this is much more comfortable for the client. The first flick is usually the worst if you have to flick from hair.. just be very confident and 'agressive' with the flick so its not being picked but a good flick.

I trained with hive and taught to use talc and also apply against the growthin the first layer and then thicken up. Everyone is shown talc in college, but using a tiny amount of oil under the wax is one of the trade secrets that is becoming more and more widly used and it is much more effective. It leaves a lipid barrier between the skin and the wax so the removal is much more comfortable and is kinder to the skin.

I started off using Hive film wax and it is a nice wax.. gets the short hairs out too. I now currently use Perron Regot and the differeneces I have found is that the Hive sets up a little brittle and can snap when removing.. where as the PR stays flexible (unless left far too long and the skin is too cold) so it is easier to remove. The PR seems much kinder on the skin too, hardly no erythema to speak of on most clients.

I will hopefully be using Berins too very soon... that is very similar to PR but definately has the edge over it. Its very flexible, goes on thinner.. sets up extremely fast and gets the short fine hairs that PR sometimes misses. I think there will be more information on it on this site once it comes into the Country.

There is a fab DVD out that shows how to use the strip and non strip wax very efficiently called the Whole Ball Of Wax. If you do a search in the search engine for The Whole Ball of Wax, there are lots of comments about it for you to read.

Enjoy your waxing...

Thank you very much for your replys. I think i will get some pr and have go on some willing volunteers. I can't wait. Also looking forward to trying berins to. Anyone know its expected arrival date and a way of getting hold of some to try?

Hi buttons, firstly, congraulations on completing your waxing course, I would say that the best wax system for you is the one that you have learnt because it seems that you are really happy with this course and perhaps when you're confidence really rises you can venture out to other systems. Hope this is helpful for you :)

We don't have an expected date just yet but it will be announced on here when it is available,
when it is here you will be able to get a sample from Collin at tantrick hth

Also just to let you know that PR do a training DVD which you can buy through head office/main supplier in London. It shows you all the waxes and demonstrates application, etc.
Quite a useful piece of kit. Watched it before buying any of the products.

Well they didnt tell me that lol. Phoned today as they forgot the info pack in my order. Which arrived this afternoon. Was very excited!!! I hope i like it at only just realised their wax heater wont fit the other size pots!. I did have a play with thickness etc. Cant see how you can get the thinkness needed and pressure in one but easily in 2. Also ordered some strip wax it smells gorgeous and spreads well to. Altho still unsure if justifys the just about double price of my previous wax.

What are all you favourite strip/warm waxes?

Hi,

If you use Swissdermyl's Green Azuline wax the standards incredible and there's no need for talc. They've also this product called Blue Oil which takes away so muc of the ouch.
