Hi all

I have melasma on my cheeks, top lip and forehead. It is getting worse and the colouring above my top lip is really distressing me.

I've been to a dermatologist whos given me a prescription for a bleaching cream which worries me a bit. If you get it anywhere else except on the pigmentation it can cause permanent white patches. I haven't filled the script yet because I have to go to a specific pharmacist in the city who makes it up.

I don't wear makeup so that is not an option for me to try and cover it.

Has anyone had any successful treatments for melasma or pigmentation except for bleaching?

Thanks

I went for a consultation for laser treatment but I've not been to have the procedure yet as it can't be done within 6 weeks of sun exposure which is a bugger as I holiday a lot. He said that I would need 2-4 treatments 4 weeks apart at around £180 a time but it should apparently do the job.

When I do finally get round to having it done I will post the results!
