Hi all - am trying to source a metal spatula, recommended to me as being fab for strip waxing.

I was told beauty express sell them but cant find them on their website atall.

Can anyone point me to a retailer?

Cheers,
jtp

Or if your going to Pro Beauty in a few weeks I imagine there.

I brought some from Beauty Express page 11 called a palette knife in cat, and some more from Lycon.xx

How does this work then do you clean it after every dip? They look better as they come in sizes larger than the wooden spatulas so I guess you can cover a larger area per dip?

It's a pain tbh imop. I brought 10 in total as I am still learning so not great as you can imagine. You can deff spread a larger area and thinner but it means I get through a lot for a whole leg changing every time I dip and then clean them afterwards, which did not work for me so went back to wooden disposibles. Having said that I am still training so experienced waxers are no doubt a lot, lot better. xx

I only use metal spatula's for general body waxing on men and women and I adore them.

I keep a can filled with solvent and chuck my spatula's in there throughout the day.....I have about 10 I think. Then when I lift each one out later it is totally wax free. The solvent is there for months and just needs topping up occasionally. I then wipe the solvent off with tissue and then clean in the usual way.

Do you use 1 metal spat for 1 person then put in the tub or are you not double dipping please?

On areas that I don't double dip.....Intimate, Basic Bikini, Under arms and face, I use wooden spats.

On areas that I do double dip for the same client only, I use metal spats. So, I use one metal spat per person.

This debate on bouble dipping goes on but I have had lengthy conversations with several surgeons and consultants and they all say that there is no problem at all double dipping on general body waxing. When I tell the the story of a lady who said that she caught MRSA from a brow wax, they said it was impossible to say where she'd got it from.

As an aside, the MRSA bugs tend to stay in the nose, under arms and groin, so it makes sense to not double dip there.
