Hey

i have just been on my Brisa course, last month and i am having problems to placing the gel along the sidewalls, i only work in the top of the gel not touching the nail at all with the brush, but i can´t find the technic to place it there without it it looking to thick ore how should i say this not
smooth
enough it ends out looking pumpi...

Am i making sense ore, tell me if i am talking black.. :)

Hiya,

Maybe you are too gently with the gel?

When I first started doing gels, I had the impression that if I couldn't apply the gel smoothly, without having to file away bumps, then I was a failure as a nail tech. I can do it with acrylic, why shouldn't I be able to do it with gel, too? Well, gel is a completely different animal from l&p, and I've discovered that IT'S OKAY to have lumpy-bumpies, and to file them away before you apply your finishing gloss! So just go ahead and file away the ridges on your sidewalls (carefully of course!).

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't still try to apply your product carefully at the cuticles and sidewalls--of course you should. But if it's not perfect, file it later. That's one reason I love gel--it's pretty forgiving. :)

I agree with you completely. It is rather frustrating for a L&P expert to not be able to do perfectly finished nails with the brush. But gel files very swiftly so finishing does not take long ... it just makes more dust than I create with L&P.

Many gel companies promote their products by saying it does not need filing but this is just not true and is one reason why I see so many ugly gel nails on people. You DO need to file it a bit (sometimes allot!) if you want perfection ... that is the way it is.

Yes i gues that i want to make the nail perfect like with the L&P, and the gel seams to go another way that i want it to .. this is much more difficult for me working with gel than the L&P than i ever imagine it would be, i also have a little difficult to estimate how thick i should lay the gel, can i make just as thin nail with the Brisa like i can with the L&P??

I watch the instructor on the brisa course do they gele nails and now i can´t see before me what she did in the zone 2 & 3, beside it looked VERY easy
