Hi all,

I'm keen to try hot wax for facial/bikini waxing - particularly eyebrows. I received a sample today to try out and I have a few people lined up willing to be eyebrow guinea pigs! I will try out the wax myself tomorrow and get the feel of it.

Could someone out there talk me through doing eyebrows with hot wax? (I have berins blue to try). Does it still go on in the direction of growth and come off against?

I'd be very, very grateful for any tip tips!!

Thanks,

Siana x

Yes it goes with the growth and is then pulled off away similarly to strip wax although on other areas you can do it like traditional hot wax if needs be.Have a practise first though to get the feel of the wax first on an area thats not so important before you tackle the eyebrows, you really need to get used to the product as it is a lot different to strip wax and a bit different to hot wax.
It can be put on thinner than you may think so try doing that and also its quite stringy so you need to get used to that.Just have a play but get used to it before tackling eyebrows.

Yes, put it on in the direction of hair growth but not as thin as strip wax. Press it into the hairs to embed them as it's setting and make sure you suport the skin when removing. xxx

Hi hun, practice on your arm or leg, creating your strip, as it takes a few goes to get the neat strips.
I do little leaf shapes with straight edges were needed, have fun and deff on in direction of hair growth off the other way. Good luck babes and enjoy. Welcome to a whole new world of waxing xxx

Thanks to you all for the info. Kim, when you say press it into the hairs do I do this with a finger? And, do you layer it on or try and get the right amount for your strip in one go?

When I use strip wax I do the underneath of eyebrows in 2 or 3 sections depending on the brow. Am I right in thinking that with non-strip you cover the whole area to be removed in one application, and whip it off all in one go???

I didn't get time to practice today but will tomorrow - I may be back with more questions once I've tried it if you don't mind!

Press with your finger. No, don't layer it on.......take a small amount of non strip on a small spatula (I split mine as I like to work with a point rather than a round on brows). Starting at the inner edge, sweep it along, right to the other side. It will start to set straight away and this is when you press the wax.

Stretch the skin when applying and stretch and support when removing. Remove in two short, sharp pulls. xxx

Which wax do you use when you do this?

I use Perron Rigot (PR), Euroblonde but in actual fact, I still prefer PR, Cristal Ocean strip wax for ladies brows and I only use non strip for mens brows as it gives a more natural look for the fella's. xxx

Well, I've tried my Berins blue wax sample and completely traumatised my husband!! I practiced on myself first - fine - then got him in and did the top of his feet - went fine, then I though I'd try his armpits. It actually went fine as far as I'm concerned - went on lovely, came off lovely, but he could not believe the pain involved!! He's now gone off deeply hurt that I could inflict such pain on him!!!

Seriously though, I loved the wax - I like the fact you can see exactly what's going on and where (because of the deep colour) and you don't have to cover it with a strip and worry about seepage (I'm thinking eyebrows). But, I'm a tad confused after reading the above posts. I thought I'd try the non-strip thinking it would make eyebrows easier (I struggle with these). Am I doing the right thing or should I stick to strip wax for eyebrows - (I have recently got a crystal ocean to try as well).

Would it be best to leave the no-strip for u'arms and bikini or is it just a case of doing what you feel comfortable with. Really I just want someone to tell me what to do that will make the whole darn wax thing easier:cry:

I've got two lots of eyebrows to do tomorrow and I don't know what to do. HELP!

PS. What sort of consistency am I looking for. I had it on the same temp as my normal wax (3) and although it worked it was a bit stringey and my spatulars got in a right clumpy mess.

Hope to hear from someone,

Siana xx

I use hard (film or no strip) wax on face, underarms and bikini/brazilian. I use strip wax on back, chest and legs. So I always use hard wax for brows as well. Every now and then I will use hard wax down the center and along the bottom of a hairy chest wax and then finish with soft.
