hi everyone.......this may be a bit long, sorry
my dad got taken into hospital in feb after coughing up some blood.....at first they thought it was a blood clot but after doing more tests the news we were all dreading came back....he had lung cancer
after lots more tests and scans he was told his best option was to have the full lung removed, but it would be a very risky op as he is quite a big man....plus the doc didnt think he would be able to manage very well with one lung....but the main thing was that the cancer would be removed completely
well my dad got the op 2 weeks ago.....i'm glad to say he got through it ok and he has made great progress.......he got home from the hospital 6 days later as he was doing so well....he was in a lot of pain and also very breathless as you can imagine but he pulled through the op and we were all so pleased that everything went ok
he had his check up at the hospital yesterday and he got told that the cancer has spread to his lymph glands.....we were not expecting that piece of news at all.....it has totally floored us
so now he has another battle on his hands.....he will see the cancer specialist on tuesday to discuss what his options will be
so as i said....what a birthday pressie for me.....as if being 35 today isnt enough for me to be depressed about
please keep your fingers crossed that we get some good news on tuesday and he can beat this dreadful disease
