had a good day today untilllll...... i was on my last app and had a walk in wanting to book fri 13th which is the day before her wedding she wants French nno, so i book it, forgot to take her number when i went back to check, I'm not even the country that weekend!!! no other tech work as its a hair salon S..t i have had to book her in at the rival shop just down the road, i feel sooo bad, now how unprofessional do i feel i want to give it up

Don't be too hard on yourself, we all do silly things from time to time( I do anyway! I went to do gel on a client once and forgot my lamp!!! ).

You have booked the client into another salon, so at least she isn't going to be disappointed the day before the wedding, so you have done all you can in the situation.

Just to add, she may call before her appointment anyway to check that everything is ok

thanks fifitrix, although i rent the room i'm pretty sure the manager is going to have a go about it as it reflects on her salon, i'm dreadin it !!!!

oh flipping ek, I'm due to go into work soon ( if i can set my tummy to stop gurgling !) I'm really not looking forward to it. I'm not very good at getting told off ( especially as I'm 41 !) any advice on how to handle this, getting told off or someone being sarcastic gets my back right up

All you can do is apologise. Just say I'm sorry I stuffed up.

I don't see how they can tell you off
you made a mistake (were only human) and you made good of the mistake, the bride will still get her nails done for the wedding and will be very grateful for that, it will not give your place a bad reputation as you solved the problem rather than just ignoring it

Well you have learned a big lesson!

Contact details are the very first thing you should ask for ... date and times and details are the last thing.

Although you have made the best solution under the circumsatnces, I would not be a happy client if I arrived only to find I was booked into a different place etc etc. No one will really win in this situation.

Take a telling off like a man ... like it or not, this situation is down to YOU.

Hopefully She will call and confirm her appt....that way someone can kindly let her know of the mistake and also let her know an appointment has been made at the other shop on her behalf.....

on the other hand....it's Friday the 13th......somethings bound to screw up on Friday the 13th regardless......
The day before my wedding was a fri 13th, but lucky for me bad luck doesn't find me on that day!

i defiantly wont make that mistake again, i got to used to knowing my clients as friends, friends of friends etc but now I'm back in a salon its back to the salon system! the manageress was cool about it , in fact she said just to leave it not to bother with tha app at the other salon ! ( cant do that I've too much of a conscience!)

Well Lilly you sound a lot more professional that your manageress. You may have made this mistake (well, we all make mistakes, that's how we learn) but at least you know how things should be done.

she's not my manageress, she's the salon manageress, but obviously what i do could reflect on her. i must admit i found her her reaction quite surprising ! she has managed a very successful business for lots of years now and i wonder if its because she is very tough and doesn't let anything bother her !?

Oops it looks like you've made a humans mistake!!!Ha,Ha

Reminds me of when i booked 5 girls on a course for March the 23rd and it ended up to be Easter Sunday......Had to work all day on Easter , didn't even get to hunt for Easter Eggs with my son.....
Won't Make that mistake again.......

hey, you certainly learn by your mistakes !
