Hi eveyone!

Really quick question, i havent undertaken my training with CND yet but i am in the process of booking it and starting up my own part time business.

What I want to know is when you lovlies named your business, did any of you think up a name that had no complete meaning to it but was right for your business?

I have thought up of a name and it is not a known word and therefore has no meaning. I did want to go with a name that had some meaning behind it but in someways this is more unique as it could mean anything I want it to...yes?:?:

What are you opinions, should names have a meaning behind them?

i dont think they should neccessarily have meaning, sometimes its good to be a bit mysterious and pique peoples curiousity, on the other hand something more instantly recognised as a nail reference might induce more interest.

Yeh I thought about that but I didnt really want to have a nail reference in the name as im hoping to branch out with other treatments so wanted just 1 name really to cover all that stands out and sounds different.

part of the name does mean beautiful so i suppose it has a half meaning lol

You just need to make sure that the general public can pronounce and remember the name, this will be important for referrals. ;)

Yes definately make sure your clients will be able to spell and pronounce it, I have found alot of clients have trouble spelling beauty which means they don't always find my website!

I chose my name as I wanted it to be obvious to clients that I was part of the beauty sector and I thought of a million names before this one but they were already taken by others and I wanted to be original. Others have used my name since though and I have received offers for my website address too which I always refuse.

I didn't put a nail reference in my name as I planned to branch out into tanning and waxing. I notice some people have referenced the brand of the products they use too (There is an EZnails and a CreativeTen by me) which I would never do in case I swapped brands in 10 years time. They could get taken over and the name could change or they could go bust or you might just prefer another system in the future and then your name wouldn't make sense anymore!

likewise.
surpisingly, angel is often spelled as angle by some people .

I thought of lots of names but none seemed to be the one. Then one night on a tv programme they were looking at the northern lights and as I said to my husband for the thousand time 'oh i want to see them' I knew my business name had to be Aurora, i have added the strap line Mobile Beauty Therapy. Not the easiest name to spell (i am really bad at it) but people always comment on it.
