Hi Geeks

Need some advice please. I wanted to compare Fake Bake and Sienna X and persuaded my daughter to be my guinea pig!!! Bless her!! I applied Fake Bake to top half of her body and Sienna X to her legs so we could see how they compared and which lasted longer, etc. She already had a natural base tan from her holiday so I applied one coat only. Initially Fake Bake appeared to be the natural winner as it dried quicker with a more natural colour, however after two days it has gone very, very patchy around her chest, arms and neck area, however her back, stomach and legs are all fine. She hasnt used any perfume or anything. Any ideas why this may have happened?

Ive found that with younger girls it can sometimes go patchy on their chest. I dunno if its down to hormones, or just the pH of their skin at that age, or because they can have a tendancy to be a bit more oily. But i am very wary of doing teens. (how old is she btw?!). Normally around Prom season i get a coupld that it wont take on, every where is perfect, cept their chest!

PErsonally, if i was trying out 2 diff tans I would do one on each leg, as diff body parts can take and fade differently!

Get her to have a good scrub in the shower to try and fade the rest a little bit!

Thank you for this. She is 17 and does have quite oily skin although I have tanned her before and it has been fine. She has exfoliated now and it looks a little better but I appreciate your advice.

Hi Helen,
if you are attempting to do a fair comparison I would suggest that you do a full body with both solutions under the same conditions (prep, equal amount of solution applied, and post treatment care)

Ideally try and ensure the first tan application has well and truly faded and any residue truly ex foliated off before proceeding with the second tan application.

The things to consider
1)ease of application and the amount of solution used to obtain an optimum tan result

2) duration of the tan and does it fade off evenly.

Good luck with the trials

so does perfume make fake tan patchy? this would explain my situaton if it does, i used a spray tan and its brill, then i got a circle on my neck right in the middle where it started rubbin off! had to wear a scarf past few days!! lol

It may and or make the area green/blue as can using soaps with a high PH level (which most are) especially if not washed off properly before the application ..
