Hi ladies - has anyone got or used one of these phd units for their waxing? I'm not sure whether to take the plunge and get one or stick with the traditional wax pot and spatulas. Any advice appreciated

I use both PhD & wax pot. I love using the PhD tubes, it is a really fast & clean method & my clients like it also.
Just a word of warning tho.....
After about 18months, my PhD heater started playing up. I have since heard a few people complain of the short life of the heater.
It wasn't heating the tubes so well & I (very stupidly) had to give them a quick, & I mean quick, zap in the microwave.
As I took the tubes from the microwave, a jet of boiling wax hit me on the face & I ended up with 1st & 2nd degree, rather large, burns.
The burns & plastics specialists are amazed that my face has healed without a scar.
So 2 important things here: 1) NEVER put things into microwaves which shouldnt be put in; 2) Fix faulty equipment or replace it as soon as it goes wrong!
OK, So I ended up binning the old heater & having to buy a replacement, but the waxing system itself I find is good.

I still find the PHd wax goes on thickly. Any idea which pot wax is the easiest to use? I really can't get the stuff to go on thinly.
hi i use it and love it, i will never look back to the traditional wax pot, its less messy, quicker, clients prefer it, and hygienic. I wasn't sure at first but glad i did. good luckHi ladies - has anyone got or used one of these phd units for their waxing? I trained on Phd and have always used it until last week!
Had a course with Kim a couple of weeks ago and the wax she used was fab so i completely changed everything. Bought new wax pots, wax, everything!
Can't believe how thin the wax goes on.
I used to find the wax with phd was never warm enough and i would have it on number 10. I never used the booster chamber as it didn't seem to keep the wax as warm as the chambers at the back.
The wax would therefore go on quite thick after using it a while.
The reason for the booster chamber is to keep the wax at a 45 degree angle.
Never thought i would say it but i am converted!!
