i was inspired by OPI doing their Breast Cancer polish pack today, i found a cute little package with a pink polish, sparkly file and lots of other goodies in Sally's today and thought how awesome it would be to organise a pink pamper party at a local venue and offer services with a percentage of profits going to breast cancer care and pink cakes, you know silly things

i recently lost an auntie to cancer within a week of finding out and am still heartbroken

do you geeks think this would be a good idea and do you have any suggestions?

xx

it sound fab hunii and im sorry for your loss, mt sister has been having a hurrendous battel with it for the past 10 years so go for it can have pink cakes, balloons, champagne :) defo a great idea xx

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your auntie. I lost my nan recently to cancer and it is devastating!

I think a pink pamper party is an awesome idea! You could do lots of things. I know you can buy pink breast cancer ribbon nail canes. Pink minx?

Best of luck!

Why don't you try to find other people that would have a vested interest in being there. e.g. Locally I know of one lady who makes cakes for a living; so maybe if you could find someone like that they would make pink cup cakes and sell them giving a percentage of the profit to your appeal and also advertising for them as well. Also when I did fund raising when my children were at primary school there were people who made inexpensive but really nice beaded jewellery supplied in little pink organza bags, you could ask people like that if they could do something on a pink theme and contribute to your cause. Home made cards etc. It would ease the workload on you to firstly to supply everything and secondly your likely to raise more money. People expect and are happy to pay for things if they know its raising money for something as well publicised as cancer. Good luck, I hope its a success xx

That sounds like brilliant idea for a very worthy cause, I do agree that it might be an idea to get a few other local businesses involved. I'm sure that if you speak to Breast Cancer Care they can give you a bit of advice and probably help you with some marketing stuff.

great ideas it sound fantastic, im certainly for the pink champagne:lol:

i will look into getting other businesses involved, look into breast cancer care for some ribbons to sell on their behalf and i think i will be offering only pink polish - but what an excuse to buy more shades of it!

hopefully this will make her proud - the rest of the money left over will be used towards to dance performance piece at my university dedicated to Pina Bausch who passed away as quickly as my auntie recently and was a credit to the performance world and also my auntie, named

"come on cancer let's walk outside"

then funds from that donated too

thanks so much guys its great to have support  xx

ohhhh yeah im onto the polish but the hand lotion... nice one

xx

Good luck with it, all sounds brilliant. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's a vicious disease and unfortunately, everybody knows someone that has had it, which could help boost donations.

I know our local hospice helps things like this and they often will have it there. Maybe one near you would be interested?

Cherryade for the kids. Make sure you've got a pale pink for the older ladies. Pink and silver balloons and pink ribbon and crepe paper can be cheap in pound shops but good for display.

Have plenty of stock for retail. Also, how about a raffle, where the winner gets either a voucher or a basket of related goodies, such as the polish, hand cream and some pink sweets.

HTH xx

oh fab i will raffle off the opi breast cancer set i found! def pale pink for the older ladies i dont want to scare them lol:)
