In these difficult times many people do not want to commit to the ongoing cost of maintenance and are electing to have Popits for holiday and special occasions.

When I started offering them I did them at a cheaper price than my usual full set and told them that they would need to return to me for safe removal - I found that hardly any did and if I saw them again, they admitted to picking or biting them off (to save money I assume) They also declined buying solar oil.

I then revised my price to include a mini bottle of solar oil and removal (at a date booked at the initial appointment) with a mini manicure.

I now also offer (at a higher price) removal with a Sweet almond manicure. This is bringing me repeat mani business too.

What do you all do ?

I always offer a free removal service, whether it be popits or usual full sets, but all they pay for is a full manicure.

I explain that if they decide they dont want their nails anymore for whatever reason, I would rather they came back for safe removal so I can put their nails back to no worse condition than when they came in.

This way they cannot then complain about the damage done to their natural nails.

Well I am lovin the idea that they have to book and pay for a removal appointment at the full set time ... LOVIN IT! A great idea on a few different levels ...

1. It practically forces them to come back .. which creates healthier nails.

2. It introduces them to using solar Oil

3. It introduces them to a heavenly CND Almond Spa manicure service.

Adele .. you're a genius!!

I AM world leader:green:

Prices do vary across the country but I charge the same as my standard full set price (which includes a mini solar oil) this is just for the min mani after the soak off.

If they elect for the Sweet Almond mani I add on 60% of the full price of that treatment as cuticle work etc is already done.

This does represent excellent value but it HAS to compete with them going to the NSS for a 'one off', and the real bonus is that I am getting repeat mani biz from people who would not have come for that treatment before.

Interestingly, people who would only have had them done for special occasions and hols are having them more often cos they love the look:) HTH

That is a brilliant idea Adele, nice one. I'm going to pinch that one. :green:

Great idea Adele....

If clients want full acrylics, but don't intend backup service, I explain that I charge $30 for a soak off/trim and buff, but if they pay in advance for this service I will do it for $20.

Some pay it and some don't, I overlap appointment soak offs so I only spend a minimum time with them, this also gives me prior notice if they are going to turn up (as technically they are only booked for 15 mins, the rest of the time is overlapped), if they don't show (while I am doing my previous client), I have their money and have only lost 15 mins in time. I like to book soak offs around lunchtime :), then the time lost can be put to good use ....IE..feeding me.

Adele you are an inspiration... what a fantastic idea.
