Hi Guys,

I have a 2 weekly client who has been having acrylic over lays for about 2 years now, tried gel briefly but as she is a nurse were not suitable, I put a new set of L & P on infilled it 2 wks later on the 15th May, she has never had any problems before and the they had not lifted when I did the infill, however she called round while I was doing her daughters nails and my god what a mess! They have on some nails slight discolouration and most of them are lifting pretty badly (one hand is worse than the other) I baffled! The only thing I thought is she has either done something without realising when cleaning etc or she has had new medication since the last set of L & P, The meds are -:Naproxin, and Glucosamine with condriton.
help! lol xx

I doubt that it's the Medication as the first is a common anti inflammatory and the second is a vitamin suppliment for joints and both are widely used. I can say from experience naproxin has never done that to my nails. I believe thyroid meds and chemo meds can cause lifting though.
The only times something like this has happened to me was the first time the client had a raging flu and fever for a week and said she literally watched her nails lift completely off over several days. We reapplied once she was well and didn't have the problem again.
The other time it happened I was having a brain dead day and forgot the primer.

Other than that I can't help much:irked:
Assuming you weren't having a day like I was and forgot primer and that your prep was all good
I would carefully go over with her to see if there's anything new she used that week. Other that that reapply and wait and see..:)

I'm stumped lol did everything as I always do, and client can remember doing anything she should'nt have but maybe did lol xx

Hi Hun,
You say she is a nurse, ask her to find out if they have canged the handwash or sanitize gel in her hospital. I dis see a thread a few weeks ago. Again 2 nurses with the same problem. They found the handwash had been changed to a different brand, so they took their own in and problem solved.
It may not be that, but it is worth checking.
Lotsa luv x  x

Hi Sarah, at first I would be like OMG!!!! how did that happen. Then with my logical and methodical thinking cap on I would work through "what would cause an enhancement to lift" (IMO if you are using a great product - as you are, I don't believe a change in cleaner/hand wash/sanitizer could make the enhancements lift so badly)
My first thought would be - Preparation
So you prepped the nail plates as per normal - great
Question: How dry were her nail plates before you started your enhancement service? Had she just come from work where she washes her hands frequently? been swimming, had a bath?
Question: when you Scrubfreshed, did the nail plate dehydrate? was it still dehydrated when you applied enhancement? could be part of the reason one hand was worse than the other, it had rehydrated.

I would try again and monitor, if again you have a problem I would advise a prep booster like "Nail Fresh".
All the best and do let us know your results.:)
