Hi geeks, I bought a set of these powders from s2 and have been having a little mess around with them today. I applied my white in zone 1 and then moved onto zone 2 and 3 using the warm pink opaque powder. My question is, do you draw the product down over zone 1?? I did and ended up with a god awful zone 1 :irked:

I'm still experimenting with these powders so any advice you have to offer is greatly appreciated

Hi Ang, when I use the opaques, I am usually extending the nailbed so I would use the reverse technique, but if I was starting with zone 1 doing my white, then placing my zone 2 bead with the opaque I would try and butt it up to the white and lightly draw my brush down, so that when I was finish filing any of the opaque l&p would be buffed off.

Hope that makes sense :)

I don't use the reverse method on a new full set but I do for rebalancing a custom blended set.

I apply in the normal way not pulling the opaque powder over the white .. Just as I would never pull any pink powder over the white.

I'll show you on the 23rd.

Gigi, can I be nosey and ask why you would do the normal way on a new set and the reverse on a rebalance? Just curious :)

I suppose because I don't feel any need to work other than the way I always work which is z1-z3. I don't pull pink over my white and therefore I don't pull the opaque powder over my white either ... so there is no need for me to alter the way I normally work.

BUT for rebalance I simply file in a new smile line and then apply a form and sculpt the white back to it and rebalance the rest of the nail in the normal way. It's easier. That is basically why I choose to do anything really .. because it is easier and/or quicker for me.

Fantastic, I get you , yes it makes perfect sense. I don't normally pull my pink or opaque down either but after I butt it up to the white, I lightly brush down, will need to stop that :)

Thanks Gigi

That makes perfect sense to me - I did lightly draw my brush down but seemed to mask the white too much. Even when I did my finishing off I could still see 'streaks' iykwim. Great Advice though, thank you so much

Not a problem Ang, but I am so glad that you asked this because I have learned something too. :green:

Me either !!!!!!

Rebalancing and removals are my main pain in the bum.....

I did a set on a friend the other day just so I can rebalance them AFTER the 23rd lol....

I do mine the same as on the CND website clips... I butt the pink up to the white then pull my brush over the white using a feather light stroke....

A main struggle I have is making the 'ears' to thin... or I'm doing them ok but filing them off...not sure which ???
