I am rubbish at smile lines! so, I thought I would try the reverse technique.
I have practised and practised but don't seem to be getting any better with the traditional method.
I've read all relevant posts and watched every Video I can find - and it's really frustrating me!
Am I right in thinking that reverse technique has to be done with a form or can I use a tip?
Recently trained with CND L&P if that helps? :!:

I have never tried the reverse technique...although I am curious about it - I should watch some videos to see what it's all about. I've sort of stuck with the techniques I learnt on my foundation course and I don't like to stray.........although never say never.

Personally, instead of practising like mad getting the reverse technique perfect, I would practise like mad getting the smile lines spot on. We've all struggled trying to perfect them, but with time and patience, it all clicks into place and the feeling you get when it all 'clicks' is wonderful! :green:

hiya, I am newly qualified and trained with young nails, and was taught with the reverse application, we were taught sculpts first and then with the tips, it worked just fine for me with the tip, I suppose its a bit like a nno, only its over a tip, I have never been taught the traditional way so not any good in that department lol, its a good way to practice your smile lines though, on a tip, I did many lol

Reverse works just as well with tips as not ... but don't give up completely on the art of creating perfect smiles with your brush ...

there is nothing better than a 121 with an educator just working on smiles .. I do it allot and my students almost always get it AND it is a quicker and more efficient way of doing zone 1.

Don't struggle ... get the help that is there.

I had some training at Sweet Spquard and learnt reverse technique. I am really getting on well with it. I wondered, I am left handed and find it easier to reverse than the traditional way. Could it be a left or right handed thing? I have a tendency to make the nail too thick if i go traditional, but never do that if i go reverese. (just thought I would mention it in case other peeps have the left handed issue and the too thick issue).
