I got a chance to sculpt on forms the other day as a nail that I had done chipped.
I found it harder than I thought but still pretty simple and it looks pretty good (I know-my heads getting big haha).
The only thing is that I have semi-opaque tips and I was using clear acrylic with a pink sparkle added, so the part of the nail I sculpted is now see-through compared to the tipped area (hope that makes sense).
So, i ask, in the future would I just mix some white powder into the clear to acheive an opaque look to imitate that of the tip colour?????

Hiya - congrats on the sculpting! Freakily I also did my first sculpt today - had one of my clients come for an infill apppointment and she'd lost one nail, as I'd bought forms last week I bit the bullet and sculpted a new nail. However........ and this is why I've joined your post....... I did it in pink! It is completely different from her other 9 nails (although I infilled in pink) LOL! Thankfully she absolutely doesn't mind as she always paints them anyway.

I'm also interested in the best colour to make them match...

iiiiiif I understand well...

you want a l&p mix to sculpt a free edge?

if your tips are white, go for the white...
if your tips are translucent, your best bet is to find a natural powder and then you can whiten it adding white... or clear it adding... clear.

it's all a matter of testing in the end, if I got your question.

imo your best bet to go from tips to sculpting is to try it on someone who has white tips, so the white mix is already done and you don't have to care about it.

Thanks Doorie, that certainly answers my question :) Linds x
