Hey just wondered why we cant just rebalance after 2 weeks? have'nt had training yet as no spaces left  going to open day thou :D and just wondered about soak off times as If i have polish or minx on I can usually get 5-7 weeks without redoing.
Thanks xx

I tried posting this three times but kept on being timed out (thank goodness for copy and paste lol... here goes, attempt #4 LOL

We have to remember that Shellac isn't a gel, nor is it a polish, it's a hybrid of the two and needs to be removed and replaced as opposed to being rebalanced. The longer Shellac stays on the nails the more difficult it is to remove and the longer removal will take. We're guaranteeing clients removal in 10 minutes, we can't do that if it's on longer than the specified fortnight.

:D

ah I just wondered its kinda hard to get your head around a product like no other lol ok will stick to removal for toes with clients 2 weeks but for me 4 weeks as I am a tad lazy when it comes to my nails lol xx

I'm really interested to know exactly how much longer removal takes when Shellac is left on the nails longer than the recommended time. If you do leave yours on for 4 weeks can you let us know how long it takes to remove them please Sarah

Me too! I think geeg said in another thread it was still only 10-15 mins but don't quote me I might have got confused (like going to the wrong clients house to do a tan :o lol tbf they both had the same door no and booked on same day :D)
I have minx on my toes just now so it'll be a wee while lol was gonna try it with my fingers see how long it last as my calgel lifts if I don't to a rebal in exactly 2 weeks or sometimes less :suprised: xx

Well I am thinking here, ok my thought are:
If it is longer than the 2 weeks, breaking the gloss seal should speed thing up a tad, unblocking those thiny tunnels lol......a quick buff and then wrap to soak..... gonna have to try that one myself..... if anyone beats me to it, please post your results!!!!!!

I found that putting the hands (with the acetone wrappers) into the UV lamp (that is ON) speads up the process.
By the time I'm finished wrapping up the last finger and tidying up the table the first finger is soaked off. :D

To answer the first question ... With Shellac we are not only guaranteeing a quick soak off time but also 14 day flawless wearability. Wearability will be affected after 14 days so you wouldn't rebalance ... Shellac is not an enhancement product!!

No doubt there will be those who 'push it' to the limit and bend the rules and who treat Shellac like something it is not and these will be the same ones who then complain when something goes wrong.

You have a great company that has come out with a fantastic new
and diffetent product and still that is not enough?? A colour service for natural nails that wears flawlessly for 2weeks and quick removal and replacement? Dont you think thats enough??

Thank goodness someone else is thinking this!!
I am so pleased that we now have SHELLAC! I don't want to change anything about it! I noticed the thread the other day on what other colours would you like,,,,blimey!! Give 'em a chance,, they've only just released!!!

OK here goes a silly question, say I put Shellac on my weak and brittle nails, will it add any strength to them? Or do I stick to putting it over my normal acrylics? :o Sorry not tried it yet, but cant wait to. :D

Keep your natural nails a manageable length, apply Shellac as it should be applied and watch them grow. shellac is for natural nails and will add strength as well as flexibility.

It certainly does to my weak nails) although they are flexible and not rock hard like l&p. I am loving Shellac on my nails. Clients love the Shellac on my nails and they want it right away on their nails!

You can always try, see how much easier it's to do on yourself than enhancements.

;)

Thanks guys:) Think I may well give this a good go.xx

It would be defeating the object too. Shellac requires no buffing of the natural nail so why spoil it to just rebalance/buff it away when due for a re-shellac? You can soak it in a much quicker time. :)

When I read the title of this thread I immediately thought - people will be asking about rebalancing nail colour next LOL.

I view Shellac as a nail colour plus - end of - I treat it the same as colour - nothing more, nothing less - it is not an enhancement product as people have said umpteen times.

There are lots of gels out there both coloured and non coloured - Shellac is not one of them!

Up until now we have struggled with getting nail colour to last, now we have so we should celebrate what we have and not keep trying to change it into something it is not and be disappointed when it doesnt cope with the change!

Use the right tools for the job and you will get the best job!

Personally speaking, I think it's important for us to know the length of time needed if a client has to cancel and can't make their 2 weekly appointment... how much more time we need to allow for a 3-4 wk removal etc.
These cancellations can, will and do happen, unfortunately.

I have no complaints about the product at all... I'm still totally besotted with it lol :green:

Clients should not be encouraged to leave Shellac for longer than the recommended time ... If they do then charge more for each extra 5mins of time to soak off. You'll have to wait amd see how much more time it takes if you push it. I have only ever stuck to the time that CND recommends because, unlike others, I trust what CND say and advise me to do.

Just placed my order and now I can't wait to try it. As toe nails grow more slowly, I guess it's just going to be trial and error regarding the extra removal time.

Whatever, it sounds like shellac is going to be a win win product and I wonder if it might even take over quite a share of the enhancement market eventually, once people realise the time savings and durability of the product?

As I said above I have not had training yet and because it is a product like no other I was just asking as I don't really know much about it yet, not knocking the product at all I love it especially with the new lamp curing 5 fingers at once wow! lol xx
