Mmmm I have sprayed 2 people with 8% tantrick and thier tan only lasted 2 days! I have seen one of the girls and her legs are very stripey! What did I do wrong?
The other girl is a nurse and did say she washes her hands and sweats a lot at work but her tan only lasted 2 days on her hands and face
Could it be I am not spraying enough? (under spraying??)

Hi gill

Is she bathing rather than showering? or perhaps scrubbing herself in the shower? This coupled with her heavy sweating could lead to it rubbing off quickly, although I suspect its something in her prep as well - perhaps she is wearing body lotion prior to tanning and has not removed it all.

With the nurse this would be the case because she is constantly(and hopefully:))always washing her hands in that antibac soap so i would suggest she buy the extender to put on inbetween.People also cleanse, moisturise and exfoliate their faces more than any other part of their bodies so it may not have taken as well because she had moisturised her face beforehand or she cleanses the tan off again an opportunity to retail the extender or she can use a bronzer.
8% is not very significant anyway in the original unless they are quite pale.EOS is better more golden.Or maybe go up to 10% and see how they like that it was probably the guide colour went and they thought it was a bit pale.

the nurse has just bleached her hair so doesnt want to go darker and said the colour stayed on her belly really well - the other girl just showered and her legs were strioey after 2 days
I have told the nurse i will get her some tan extender for inbetween - but why stripey legs?

Did she shave directly before her appointment so had shaving cream remnants on her skin. Was your coverage as good as it should have been,i know the guide colour isnt as dark as some others.was she wearing loose trousers after her tan ... did it run on her legs,i dont know have a good think yourself because its not going to be the solution because its fab its either what shes done or youve done hth x.

There could be several reasons Hun.

1. Perhaps she showered sooner than she should have
2. Sweating could be a possible issue

Perhaps you could try spraying on more to make sure you have full coverage.

To be honest i would be more help if i could see her legs as you can usually tell if its something they have done or you have done

yeah I have a feeling I may have under sprayed them. At least the nurse has come back to me for another one so will try spraying her more!

for those of you that have the t200 - how many twists do you do of the silver thingy at the back ( well im still new to all this lol) do you do? Have a feeling I may be under spraying!
Thanks

This is the same on any HVLP turn it up a little and spray it onto couch roll until you are happy with the amount thats coming out. I do think its best to turn it up a little bit it makes all the difference

Mines at a 20 to 12 position.

yeah I think I will turn it up a bit next time! Just hard to find the inbetween of under and over spraying when new!

I was taught by my Lovely trainer Tracy to spray down a strip of couch roll.Pin it up spray down, you should be able to see the colour sprayed evenly and then feel the roll and it shouldnt feel too wet and should not have gone through to the other side.
Its all just practice, you will be ok with experience.

Hiya

My Tantrick trainer advised me to turn the knob two and a half times and that has worked perfectly for me......

Hope this helps:)
Janet

I turn mine three-quarters of a turn and I get plenty of spray. Opening it 2 and a half times would have the solution pouring out in torrents!

I test my solution coming out on bed roll too but I hold the roll vertically and spray it directly onto the roll, then I split the 2 plys and check that the solution hasn't come out on the 2nd layer of paper too much if that makes sense? It sometimes has a few spots on the second ply but that is ok and I am good to go.

Good luck it does get much easier as you do it more, it is all trial and error to begin with. I had huge probs and now I am super confident (famous last words, its all going to go horribly wrong now) Lx

I have mine at around 20-25 mins to as well, if you mark it with something like nail varnish you will be able to see exactly how far open you have it.

If your machine is a T200 3/4 turn is way to much and you will be using far too much solution and spraying too wet. Turn it back to 20 to or 25 to that should be enough.

This is a question i had a couple of months back.
I marked my dial at 12 o'clock (closed) and took advice from other geeks on here and it is now set at 12.30. As i'm still new to all this i feel that works for me but i will try and turn it down a little bit more. I originally had mine up 1.05 this was wayyyyyyy to high and caused me MAJOR problems :lol:.
Hope that makes sense!

With regards to the tan only lasting two days - I think everyone has answered your question on this.

With regards to the tan going stripy this could be down to your technique aswell as what the client could have done before and after her tan.

Overall... when starting a spray tan, as another geek mentioned, always check on a piece of couch roll how the solution is coming out. All machines vary very slightly anywhere between 2.5 and 4 turns as a general rule of thumb.

You just need to keep up with the practising and then you'll be laughing!

Im new to spray tanning and Tantrick. I marked my dial at 12 and it is turned to 25 past/half past and im getting good coverage. I probably am using to much solution but have only been doing it 2 weeks and while using Autumn Gold don't want to risk not covering all areas.

If you are referring to the T200 here 2.5 turns - wow now that's a lot of solution coming out and 4 well, you could probably swim in that! :green:
