Hi all,

I have a friend who had skin cancer, she has had it removed from her leg, she has a very large scar, and its quite deep.
She is thinking of having spray tans in future, how would you go about this?
would it need to be covered in a barrier cream, or is it ok to go over it, its atleast 12 months old.

Thanks
Lucy

I have a long scar over my right ankle, I broke it, I just spray over it as normal, the tan helps to hide it and I find that the tan also leaves it feeling less dry and tight.

I have always found that rub-in tans are better over scars. The same with stretch marks.

There wouldnt actually be no difference between rub in tans and spray tans niether would affect the scar.

No I am talking coverage, not contraindications....

Coverage wouldnt really make a difference either

i spray over my scar and its fine, the only problen i get is that as its raised when the rest of my body fades the tan stays in the raised area, but i have found that putting barrier cream along the sides of the scar but not actually on the scar eliminates this problem, hope this helps xxx

i have a scar on my tummy and its quite big. anyway, i find it covers well and i have no real problems with it but it does take a while to get all the tan off it. It seems to hold the tan even though i use an oil free moisturiser (fake bake) on it before i spray and prep it throughly. its four years old.

such a shame for the terrible skin cancer your friend has had and isn't science wonderful that we can now deal with these conditions and allow an individual to carry on a normal life.

Talking of normal...simply treat this area a normal and all will be fine:hug:

There might be the faintest possibility that the tan may not look completely the same as the rest of her so its simply a case of altering the dosage of cover to the effected area and or alternatively with the clever use of make up to darken the appearance of the skin.

So all in all there is no reason why this lady cant put on a summer dress and look and feel good...with the added help of a bit of creativity on your part that is
