hi geeks i recently did a french manicure on my mums nails and within a few days they had already yellowed really badly.i applied the medea top coat and then a uv blocker but it didnt make any difference.
also i wondered if any of you know if there is a way for you to do a french manicure using an airbrush on yourselves, what can you use for a stencil that you dont have to hold?
can wait to hear your ideas.thanks:)

hi 2 magnets and flat metal baking tray !! place a magnet either side of your stencil push them together to make an arch that fits your finger and away you go !!

I use the middle of a sculpting form (the roundish bit) and stick it on the nail just above where you want your smile line to be.

One end of the form will make a deeper smile and the other will make a natural smile for you.

VERY easy and it uses up those middles that most people just discard.

Never heard of the magnet thing before. I would think the forms would be much simpler.

One of the best stencils for airbrushing a French is your own fingers, turn them to get the angle right (different sizes, different fingers), cover where you don't want paint, then spray away, it can't get any simpler than what you already have. Without having to buy or use anything.

I did used to use my thumb in the salon allot in the past as I airbrushed all my French Manicures in those days. But the thumb method gives a softer look and you cannot vary the curve of the smile like you can with th middles of the forms. The forms give a much sharper look to the smile as well and are very economical as you would just normally throw them away anyway.

Try both methods and see what you like.

while we're on airbrushing... i believe you can airbrush a white onto acrylic nails, then seal with gel but when i tried this it chipped after a few days. any suggestions?

Gell will only stick on an acrylic surface that has been etched. Unfortunately you can't etch over the top of your airbrushed French. Best to use a UV top coat or just a good quality top coat.
