hi there,

i have been doing nails for a few years now but i am recently experiencing probems with fill lines and shadows on some clients.

Can you help?

fill lines are caused by insufficient removal of lifted product.
are you having problems with lifting that you didnt have before? if so its time to look back at your application proceedure and see what you are doing differently.

Hi,
Make sure that all lifting is totally off before applying more gel, always take the shine off the new nail that grows it because its been in contact with minerals that the gel covered nail has not and will be discolored and can also cause lifting, and finally order some NSI Line Out. I use it all the time, you need very little and make sure to let it dry a good minute before you apply your gel. It works great.

If you are having lines in the finsihed nail, it is because you have not removed all of the lifted product during your filing/prep routine.

There is help there about how to file away lifting.

However, if you are having lifting issues, you need to address that as Angel Fingers has suggested, you should go over your prep routine, mix ratio (L&P), product application etc etc and sort out what it is that's causing the lift in the first place.

As for using 'Line out'......that is just a lazy way of working - sort the lifting out & save yourself lots of time at maintenance appointments & money you don't have to spend on a 'glue' that will just stick your lifted product down & could end up causing a bacterial infection at worst and service breakdown.

Shadows at the smile lines to me make me wonder if you are using a pink or opaque pink gel on the nail bed and then not getting enough of it off when you redo your smile line at the free edge. This is a link to my favorite tut on the reverse fill that made my smile lines look better than they ever have. Good luck!

Thank you for all your help. To clarify i am using L&P. I have gone over the prep routine and making sure i completely remove shine and any lift. However on a couple of my clients I can see the line where i have removed or filed my product ready for infill and this isn;t any lift as they are hard an fast on there.. So not sure what I am doing? Thank you for the link...I have had a look and everything is ok on that score?

perhaps you could take a photo of the problem and we could advise more?

if you are following the correct procedure, perhaps it's ageing product that's letting you down.

One application should blend into the nest if correct filing is observed, if any lines are visible after filing, then they will be visible after application, so perhaps not all is well ..... it's up to what you choose to ignore really.

just a thought, have you have you changed products and this is why its only just started x
