I'm jjust starting out with spraying and haven't done any paid clients yet, I'm having a "launch party" at home this weekend and was planning on a few more practice runs before then.
I've had a call today from a friend of a neighbour who's normal salon have cancelled and she needs a tan this afternoon......now I don't know what to do? She said she understands if I can't do it at short notice. I've told her I'm new and she just said well have people been happy so far, well that's fine.

Now if I do a good job this could bring me fair bit of business as she runs a local dance school....but if I don't........
I'm a bit of a perfectionist and a worrier, I know if this would have been another week down the line I would have been fine with it, but feel a bit unprepared!
Hubby suggested I go for it, be honest with her and don't charge, which is what I'm thinking myself.....what do you guys think?

I need to ring her back soon!

Get on the phone and tell her you will do it!

I say go for it!! If the tans you've done so far have been nice and even then you should be absolutely fine...
Have confidence in yourself! I know how your feeling cos i'm at the same stage! my lil sister asked asked me to do her friends for her debs yday.. I got very worried but i warned her im only new and she said she was fine with it. I've been practising loads and they've been going well so I just went for it! and it turned out really nice! means i might get a few more out of it too cos her group are all around the same age.
you'll have to bite the bullet some day so why not today!!

yeah - same - go for it! you'll be fine - if you're a perfectionist then the worst job you do would be someone elses best! You know the routine - i suggest however charging 1/2 price to cover costs as she was going to pay a salon full price so its win win for her and you in my opinion? Let us know how you get on. Go for it Lou.... The tan is lovely ......sitting here typing in the sun and I am glowing its a lovely Colour.....and your very confident when spraying .....Too good a chance to turn down

Definately don't pass this up it looks worse if you say you can't do it and she goes and finds a new therapist to give all the potential dancing school clients to. give yourself some confidence complete the treatment and if theres anything you think you may not be happy with afterwards dont point it out but just give her aftercare advice and at the end say and because i am just new to spray tanning please let me know if there is anything you are not happy about and i hope you like it.

Go for it! You have to take the plunge and start somewhere hunni. Also you shouldnt really dish out free tans as people will then expect it forever! As your new i suggest charging £10 per body thats still a very good price

I decided to go for it, but it didn't go ahead. I have set myself up as mobile but as she doesn't have her own place she wanted to come to my house and because I live in an MOD property I must get permission from them before running a business at home. I'm very wary as you only have to trump here and the whole estate knows about it!!! Anyone living in a forces community will know what I mean. I also haven't got the correct house insurance.
I wished her luck finding a therapist and for her to enjoy her weekend.

A bit disappointed now especially given the wonderful support from you guys.

Just for future, why not contact her and offer to go to her dance school and do some tans there,
or you could ask if she has a friend that would like to hold a spray tanning party. hth
