I am in need of another brush and have been looking thru all kinds...
Just interested in what you other Geeks are using.

I have seen a great little creative size 8 round but it is $xxx ...not sure if it is worth the money...
Thanks

Hiya,

I actually bought the really expensive Creative brush myself when i started out and i never ever use it. I love Creative products but i cant use the brush anymore. My brush i use at the moment is actually from Young Nails. I absolutely love it! I dont use their products but this brush is great. It is a 6 or 8... It has a metal handle and a cap so you can cover it when not in use. Hope this helps. Corrine x

I have a CND master series with a red & black handle, and an EZFlow 508

ezflow #508 for me all the way...... i could never go back to a round brush again

Jessica,
What shape is the ezflow508?... not heard of it before?.
My brush has died.. i got some hard acrylic stuck in it and instead of acetone i pulled it and yep... out came some of the hair.... now it splits..
hrrrrrr so cranky with my self.

Neither of the CND brushes used for enhancements are round brushes. They all go lovely and flat and are some of the best brushes in the word.

Want my advice? Use the CND Ultra Sculptor size 10. Makes you life so much easier to use a 'grown up nail tech's brush'!! Smoother surface ... firmer push ... and you can make the tiniest beads with it too.

They are definitely worth every penny. Each brush is hand tied and perfect. How anyone can not get on with a CND brush is beyond me ... any artist could tell straight away that these brushes are special.

Everything CND is top quality and you know what they say ... if youare good at your job "you're worth it!"

I agree,i got the Ultra sculptor when Geeg recomended it (i wanted to be a grown up tech :D)

I have to say the first time i used it i though omg this brush is magic,it just does it for you lol.

In regards to cost, well imo it's your livelihood,it's used so much the cost would be pence per use,a brush isn't something you should try to save on,it's your single most used tool of the trade.

hth's

Wow a 10.. really.. I am used to the 8 round.. and I must say the one that i have is.. cheap :(.. well cheaper than the CND I have seen... Thanks for all your information.
I will look at getting one and having a go.
I know it is my bread and butter but my son has just had an operation and it cost a bomb so money is tight for the next few months.

I have used the cnd brushes aswell but its not really my cup of tea since the bristles are a bit too floppy for my taste.
i changed to ezflows grand artist oval 508 and think its a perfect brush for me since it is a bit firmer and also very versatile.

Creative tend to do cheaper handled versions of their better brushes so you can give them a good trial before committing. Worked well for me when I first started doing nails.

It's definitely worth the money! It's what I use and I love it. :)

I have a cnd ultra sculptor too!! Am I a grown up nail tech then?!!! Seriously when the salon I worked in suggested I changed brushes I felt quite scared really, the ultra sculptor just looked huge and I never thought I would be able to control my product with such a big brush. But since I swapped to an ultra sculptor I have never looked back!! Its fabulous I couldnt work without it now!

I have a CND master series, The Ultra Sculpter I think its called.. similar to the No 8 iirc?

I have been training with a Kolinski brush :)

Ezflow 508 for me too, it seemed huge at first compared to what i used in college (size 6 kolinsky round), but i wouldn't be without it now!

CND brushes are designed to work with CND powders and liquids. The brushes are in no way floppy. But they are not designed to push concrete around either ... which most all other products feel like in comparison to CND.

Creative powders and liquids are soft and creamy to work with and require a brush with long flags to smooth and not move the product.

When you use powders that are hard to file and hard to press in comparison you may need a firm more solid brush. For CND products, a brush like that would not be suitable.

It does help to know your product well and how it works and then it is easy to understand the WHY's of things.

Thank you to all who have replied to my thread...
I use CND L &P so I think i will take Lotus Blossom and Geeg advise and get a "big girls" grown up brush... It makes sense to use a creative brush when i use CND

Also you are 100% right geeg.. I find filing other tech;s work extremely tough and it is hard as a rock.. I refuse to take on those clients that have been to another salon unless they have a new set..I know I am turning money away... but to be honest i don;t want my name on those nails...
