Hi there

I have bleach highlights and im growing my hair too, but id like to keep it in good condition. my hair gets notty easily and looks fuzzy at times like it needs a good drink

im using intense masks by loreal etc but just wondering if there is a salon treatment that works better etc.

many thanks

I'm not a hair geek...so bear with me. :)

I have very coarse, curly, color-treated hair that is dry as a bone. I just discovered Kpak by Joico. I cannot rave enough about it! It makes my hair feel like human hair and not a horse's tail.

I purchased it at a beauty supply that only sells to licensed cosmetologists. If you go the Kpak route, you can purchase a small trial size to see if you like it. I love it and when my trial is empty, I will definitely purchase a regular size!

HTH! :)

im not a hair pro either and my hair is bleached and is quite dry and fuzzy like when i dont straighten it but i bought that kpac stuff after rave reviews about it on here but i didnt feel it made any difference to my hair at all so i supose its just like evrything else and its trial and error as im sure there are lots of people that found kpac great but i for one still havent found the right product.
i did find the home made avacado and olive oil mask good but it made my hair go abit yellow.x

find a Matrix salon near you, they do a treatment for coloured hair which you leave on for 5-10 mins, it comes in a little glass bottle.. im sorry i cant think of the exact name for it but its definatley by Matrix, they do one for coloured hair and dry hair.

I bought some for my freind, she has bleached highlights and she loves the treatment!

dont forget to have regular trims too!!

The Joico KPAK 3 step treatment is fantastic! And it leaves your hair smelling very yummy!

 I have an extremely dried hair due to coloured, straightener and permanent permn etc ... I would recommend to shampoo with cold water and leave your hair dry itself and avoiding heat.

- Kérastase Lumière Nutri-Sculpt - Luminising film-crème for dry and sensitised hair (leave-in); twice a week
or
- L'Oréal Professionnel - absolut repair treatment serum for emergency first aid; daily

You can choose the product line i you wish, I use full system and my hair become healthier...

Hope this help hun...

That's not a professional product though. We don't recommend OTC on here.

For blondes I like the Schwarzkopf range. All are great but my favorites are the Blondeme hair mask and also seah blossom mask. :)

The key to good conditoned hair is in the whole. So a good shampoo and conditioner is essential too. Regular trims even if you are growing and plenty of heat protection when you are styling.

I can also throughly recommend a tangle teezer to get the knots out without breakage. They are my most popular product for long, tangled hair at the moment :)

I also love Wella SP range, especially repair shampoo teamed with the repair mask x

hi ya

thank you so much for your replies really appreciate it.

iv tried kpak previously and didnt see much of an improvement to be honest and it wasnt cheap, sorry! in fact it made my dry hair feel more brittle like there was no moisture????

im interested in the matrix range for sure, i tried the nanomax salon treatment which cost £40 per go and didnt see a big difference either.

i do like loreal intense mask at the mo but will look at the matrix one and others to

thank you

I am a salon professional and very knowledgeable of different professioanl products that can help you. I like Redken Chemistry shots, it saved my hair from total breakage when I put my trust in another stylist for highlights. Go to the salon and I have set under the dryer for 30 min then but a chemical ph balancer on it. It totally renewed my hair and didn't way it down. I like the Kpak for Strengthening but not what you are needing. the Matrix treatments are good but I feel they don't last as long as they should, especially without any added heat. Kerastase I've heard is very good but I have never had any experience with it and, especially in this area, has been hard to find. I hope this helps you out alot. With the Chemistry shots it sounds like you would need a shot of Extreme, All Soft and Real Control. You can go to the salon and have them done once a week. I do one once a month just to keep it in good condition.

i also have this problem with dry highlighted hair. is there a suppliers website i can use to find local salons with these products? otherwise ill have to phone around them all and im not sure of the pronunciations!
(dont suppose any of you hair geeks are in the south dorset area?)

I'd try the Aphogee protein reconstructor. You shampoo you hair, rinse, then apply the aphogee treatment. (Be warned it smells somewhere inbetween rotten apples and cat pee.) and dry your hair on high heat (not vigorously, or you'll break your hair. Then wash. We've all done it at my school, once a week for six weeks, and voila, great hair.

I get it in the US at Sally Beauty Supply. I would assume you could order it online, aside from the fould odor, it's worked a wonder on my over processed hair. It's been bleached, permed, colored, over and over again, and been using it for 5 weeks now. My instructor can't even tell my hair is processed. :)
