I have to do a competition on the 28th April, and I have to paint the hand and arm (see my photo album - daisies) but I want some body paint that isn't majorly expensive because I don't have a lot of money (no solid income). My model has a bit of fair hair on her arms so dont want anything that will crack when dry!

Any help would be really appreciated as I am stressing bigtime

I would pm Ruth Mills

The ones Ruth told me about are a bit expensive for me :o

Ah right, so the ones at 3 Kings were a bit pricey? Like I said, I'd be happy to post you some colours I no longer need if that would be a help though...

Try googling Grimas they do theatrical make up and do great water based body paints and you can buy them in tiny pots to go onto a pallete , they are professional and wont crack and are fab too  x

Thanks for the offer but I feel bad taking things off people, especially when I may just pack the whole thing in because I am 100% miserable at college

Aye, Grimas are OK, but those ones are the pearl colours, which I have found don't go on as well as their standard colours, they're a bit fussy to work with to get a good coverage. So I'd recommend their standard colour palette unless you specifically want pearlescent colours.

Sorry I posted the wrong ones these are the ones I use they are great

Yep, they would get my vote. A good basic range of colours that should hopefully give you enough fcolours for your summer nail art/body art theme and not costing megabucks either! Thanks Minky :)

Thank you both. I hope you don't think I am rude Ruth.

Is that website alright to buy from? quick delivery etc?

Hi Ruth you are very welcome ,
its surprising at just how far a small pallete of these professional paints will go ,

Grimas do some great professional television and theatrical stage make up .

I love all their special effects stuff too

They also do great brushes too, I think a great brush is a must. x

Ps sorry UK red for hijacking your thread

Don't worry, I didn't think you were being rude.

I haven't used that particular online shop before, but it looks as though they are an established company (seems connected with a couple of fancy dress shops in Essex and Norfolk) so I would be inclined to give them a go...

Hi UKRed Grimas have been operating for very many years,
and they have a very good name within the theatrical and television industry I honestly don't think you will have any problems at all ordering from them
PS I used to order from them all the time and they were good and fast too .
 x good luck

Aye, Grimas do have an excellent reputation, they are a Dutch company and are well respected in the theatre, film and TV, as well as by face and body painters.

The website though is not Grimas themselves by the look of it, but a UK based supplier...

Ah yes, I know what you mean! I used to do loads more body painting a few years ago (2000-2003 were really busy years for me with body painting) but things have quietened down a bit now, as I am much busier with other things (like keeping Sonia and our zoo happy)...
