Hi guys can anyone help ?

I currently stock lycon strip wax and also hot wax in my salon.

Both myself and my clients like the product but i like others have stated here it is quite expensive.

It doesn't really leave much margin.

So I was wondering if you guys could recommend me a brand which is more affordable without compromising on quality ???

hi i really like the perron rigot, crystal ocean for strip and euroblonde for non strip, its a very good quality wax

This is a difficult one as everyone will have their own opinion on what they think is the best based on their own preference and really the only true way of you finding the right one that suits you is to try as many as you can and then make your own mind up from there:hug:.

Other things to look at is your pricing structure at the treatment end as treatment material costs should not be any more than about a 10% cost factor.....no matter if you are using a top end expensive product or not.

If your pricing structure is on a par with others locally and you still don't seem to have any margin then two further issues are worth looking at

Are you simply using far to much wax in your treatments and are these treatments taking longer than they really should.

What wax therapists use isn't only the be all and end all answer to commercial success its how you use it and how long it takes to use it that can seriously effect margin and consequential profitability and viability of the treatments you undertake.

HTH

Brands apart, I too am concerned that you feel your product cost isn't leaving you much margin. All waxing should be extremely profitable! Modern non-strip waxes are designed to be spread thinnish. Are you using Lycon's hot wax or their Lycojet? (The Lycojet I believe is the one which spreads thinly.)

Where in London are you? If you are on the west side and you have a car, feel free to whizz out to Reading and see me for a few hours and I will help you with your technique and discuss product cost, usage, timings and pricing with you

Even with a higher end brand (such as the one that I use), I've worked it out that from a bag of wax that costs £12, you should easily take about £300.

It's all about knowing your product and seeing what happens when you use less of the wax. Try it! xxx
