Hi,
I presume you just want a mineral make up, I recieved samples today from Lily Lolo and just tried it on myself. So far I really like it. Im sure if you google loads should come up?

Cozmetic Lab - pure mineral makeup. Great range, great service, great prices.

Bodyography also do a range called 'Oxyplex', which is their mineral make-up range; I like it as it allows me to have both a mineral make-up range & Bodyography's normal make-up range, thus catering to the whole market. Here in the UK it is distributed by Gerrards (the same company as Jessica), but here's their official site:

Bodyography | Professional Cosmetics

ArtDeco offer a profesional range of both traditional cosmetic and also mineral make up.

Hi,
Not being a skin geek myself, I was wondering what the difference is between cosmetic and mineral make up? Is one better for the skin? as I am looking for a good foundation, I have quite bad skin and need good coverage. Maybe someone could recommend one...sorry to hijack thread! just thought as it is related? Thanks:)

Absolutely!!!! :green:

Regular makeup (aside from containing numerous chemicals) contains things like mineral oils and goes on over the skin like a thin layer of spac-filler. It clogs your pores, doesn't allow your skin to breathe, fills your pores with 'bad stuff' (very technical term there), and usually causes the skin conditions we have - such as: large pores, black heads, acne, blemishes, rashes, bad skin...

Where as mineral makeup is a made of natural minerals (beware of fakes brands though like Sheer Cover and Thin Lizzie ~ they aren't natural and contain bad ingredients). Natural minerals lightly cover the surface of our skin and absorb excess oils as well as allowing our skin to breathe. You will find too, that using mineral makeup actually helps improve the condition of the skin, acne subsides, blemishes occur less, skin is less oily/dry, pores don't get clogged as much. Over all, mineral makeup is a far better choice to main-stream makeup. :green:

Mineral make-up (although fairly new on the commercial market) has been used for years by cosmetologists and drs. It was originally developed for camoflouge (Sp)! following invasive procedures such as laser txs etc, and has developed from thereon.

As some have already said - NOT ALL mineral ranges out there are good though. I really like glominerals. (Just my personal preference). True minerals, pharmaceutical grade (makes a difference). Some minerals can be quite cakey/chalky in texture and others really soft and fine. I would opt for the latter. Some also contain irritants - I know bare escentuals (although a very good range), can be quite irritant to a lot of people's skin because of this, however, is excellent for others. XX

Thank you, Sounds like this will be my next purchase....would I need to see a professional to 'prescribe' the right type/shade? If so could anyone suggest how to find the right consultant...would I be looking for a beauty proffessional or more medical? Also I usally spend between £20 and £30 on a foundation and I'm guessing that this will be more? Thanks so much....Sara:)

have you looked at Keraja from Euro Products? I know its not mineral make up but does have some good proucts in the range, I love the Skin Velvet foundation applied with the brush... goes on lovely and suits all ages, brilliant selection of funky wee eye liners and like the waterproof mascara, have a lovely high lighting powder and a gorgeous blusher, prices very reasonable and they do a good service, the rep comes out to you which i find great as over here in Northern Ireland not many make up ones do, only downside of the range is that (in my opinion) eye shadows aren't the best so i just have a wee selection of different brands instead of the keraja ones, hope this helps

CC Pure Mineral Makeup will actually custom blend shades to suit your skin shade, however they already have a large colour range to choose from and a list of skin types and which colours will suit. I know they're in Australia, but they do ship OS. I imagine most people who retail mineral makeup know which colour will suit your skin type.

As mentioned above there are chalky mineral makeups - some mineral makeups contain cheap clay infills (where the primary ingredient is a cheap clay)... you want to avoid those ones as well.
And another benefit of mineral makeup is they're water proof and you can go swimming while wearing the makeup.

Thank you, am now going to have a web search.:)

Hi - new to Salon Geek and just did a search on the brands I use and love. Barbara Bort is an amazing range - really comprehensive and the quality is awesome. Sophie - the UK distributor is really helpful and always on the end of the phone when you need her. No minimum order either which helps us smaller businesses. Would highly recommend it and happy to talk further if you want to do a private message.

for a non mineral range karaja is good, no mim order or vita liberat, they normally do have a min order but at the mo i think you could swing it!!! the rep is called helena, say you were talking to sarah frm ballymena. also they are used by rosemary wright and featured in in mag which is good pr
