3rd edition of my textbook, The Complete Nail Technician, has just been approved by the publishers :)

It will have a couple of new chapters on business topics and e-files plus other chapters will be updated with latest information available. Many pictures and step by steps will be also be updated.

Any requests from geeks that know the book and think it is missing something? Plus, if anyone has a good picture of a relevant nail/skin condition I would appreciate being able to use it to demonstrate real conditions. Please PM me.

Thanks all
(apologies to the Mods if this is the wrong forum )

Great news .. You've become a 'classic' Marian  I mean your book has!!

I wonder how much you include about maintenance ... seems to me there can't be too much information about the sorts of problems new nail techs will see in the 'real life' situation of doing nails, and how to deal with them.

Woh ho! Well done, I saw you at excel and you mentioned it, couldn't wait!
I hope systems like popits and non traditional applications have a section, would love to read it. Post when its out! :green:

Thank you Geeks (and thanks to those that have PM'd me). 2 excellent suggestions that I will follow up

I agree Geeg, maintenance knowledge is essential sooooo......if anyone has any pics that show a maintenance 'issue' could they contact me please??? :) As I don't work in a salon anymore I don't come across this. Actually, some very useful pics would be those that people who are training get to see on maintenance services as this is the time when the problems are the most puzzling

I'll ask S2 if I can use PopIts as that's an excellent idea. Anymore??

Thank you so much for all your help

Minx for sure ... Looking forward to Sunday!!

Great news Marian! Your book is certainly one of my nail bibles xx:hug:

How long until it will be available for us to get our hands on?

Thanks everyone

I'm hoping it will be out by the end of the year. The new Standards are in place in Aug and the new book reflects the changes in them. I have to say they are the best so far!

There are virtually 2 routes people can take: one is down the artistic route and the other is down the commercial/business side. This makes much more sense considering the vast majority of technicians are in 'micro businesses' and need to know the basic business 'stuff'

You may also be pleased to know that there is a new Unit for the e-file. Not only will this encourage proper training in the subject but it will also give local authorities the supporting info they need when there are bad practices going on in salons

oooooooo I can wait to get my hands on a copy, hopefully it wont be too long after its released that I can get one down here, the 2 routes will be of great interest to read.

Spooky! I was just talking about yours and Geegs book.

Wow, I feel so priveledged as a "new comer" to Nail Tech and to this site, to be able to pick the brains of two of the most very well respected, knowledgable and talented ladies in the business.

Thank you!

Thank you Loulou

Grafxgal, my daughter is in NZ for 3 years (1 down, 2 to do ). Maybe I'll personally deliver one for you if I get to visit!
 Maybe I should do some training sessions in NZ :D. That will get me over there
