I everyone

I need some help and advise.

completed NSI training in 2004, I have 2 kids under 2 and decided to go back to being nail technician mobile.

problem applying acrylic goes on to thick also gels crack over the nail after a day or 2.
need advise pls.

If you have not really done any treatments since 2004 then I would sugggest you do a refresher course to iron out some of your issues.

Have to agree with fiona, to go 4 years without doing any kind of nail treatment and then expect to pick up where you left off you are bound to run in to problems chick.

The industry is changing all the time and i would strongly advise taking a refresher course to help you get back into the hang of things and iron out any problems you may be encountering.

Good luck

Well thickness is the easiest problem to solve .... USE LESS PRODUCT. I don't mean to sound cheeky, but really the solution is to make smaller sized beads and the nails won't be too thick.

As to your gel cracking ... how old is it? .. how old is your lamp? Could be all kinds of things.

Welcome back to the Industry Tracey!

So much has changed and there are so many new products and techniques available now, I would highly recommend a Refresher Course or a One-to-One which would not only get you back up to speed, but would also give you a jag of motivation and confidence-building:)

Yes, welcome back to the nail industry!

Are you building up enough of an apex with your gels? Also, as Geeg has already said, if your lamp/bulbs are old, or indeed the product past its shelf life, you're heading for problems.

As for your acrylic, if it's going on too thick then it sounds like you either have too much product, or not enough control of it? It sets quicker in warmer temperatures so could it be that it is setting before you finish working with it? Is your mix ratio right cos if it's too dry it will be setting quicker. hth x
