Just wondered if any of you very busy spray tanners keep a back up machine.
Do you have a smaller cheaper machine just in case. What would you do if you suddenly broke down in mid spray could you get away with spraying from a bottle.Anyone had any experiences and had to take emergency measures.

I've never had a problem Gill, but I do have a back up! I use a compressor and airbrush in the salon and have a mini-mist that I use for mobile work. As my business is split (about 60% salon 40% mobile) I got fed up of packing up and unpacking, and now have my mobile kit ready to go whenever.

That said, its a great feeling of security, for if one machine has an issue that I can carry on with the other.

If it were me, I would probably look at something like one of the Nuress machines. or the funny cheaper ones that look like a vacuum cleaner, just as a pure back up for 'just in case'

Now if someone can find me a UV lamp that works through power cuts.......bane of my life at the moment!

Touch wood, I have never had a problem but I do have a back up machine just in case!

I have 2 minimists

Hi i don't have a back up one, i have 1 minimist pro but i have been thinking about getting the mobile version as i work mobile and the minimist pro is killing my back. Never thought about it breaking down sounds like a good idea.

I used to used the Minimist Pro for Mobile, but i was braking my back!! So i then got a Minimist Mobile (T200) and i now use that, touch wood i haven't had any probs, but i have my Pro there to use if anything did go wrong.

I think its a good idea to have a back up. Mainly if you are a busy salon, for the cost of a small machine for back up, can save you loads of money. If you machine brakes down, and you have 12 tans booked in over the weekend, thats £300 you are gonna loose... If your machine isn't under the warranty, 9 times out of 10 your machine will have to go back to the manufacture, and that can take WEEKS. Not all company's have replacement machines for you to loan while your's is gettin fixed.

You could end up loosing a very lot of money, and for the price of a T200 just for back up, is worth it i think.
