Hello All, great site by the way could sit here all day reading threads, but any way i was hoping someone could give me some advise.

I'v longed to be a nail technician ever since my 18th birthday when i had my nails done and enjoyed the whole experience and what i saw, but me been me never had the guts to think i could ever be a nail tech, but im 24 with 2 very young children 1 aged 2 and my baby only 4 months, now unfortunanlty my company i work have been hit by the credit crunch and are making alot of us redundant and i'm now looking for a change in life. im not expected to leave work for another 3 months so i was thinking of taking a nail tech course in my maternity leave so when iam made redundant iv started the proceedings of becoming a nail tech, is it worth doing or would you say it's very stressful time getting started, if i do go ahead i plan to go creative nail academy in leeds as it near my home town would that be the right choice.

What would you recommend

Hi!

Creative is one of the best products on the market and have great courses! I'd definantly train with them!

I'm in the same situation as you. I have an 8 year old daughter and a 9 month old son. The company I worked for went bust before I went on maternity leave so I don't have a job to go back to.
I'm more in to nail art so I did the new course with EN and passed. I thought about it alot before buying it because it was quite pricey but I knew if I didn't do it now, I never would and I would regret it.
So my advise would be to just go for it. Even with this credit crunch women will sacrafice other things to get their nails and hair done cause they always want to look their best.
Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

I say go for it - get your Creative training done and then at least you will have an alternative means of earning your income once you are made redundant (I am so sorry about that by the way...it's becoming daily news with company's closing down) :irked:

I trained with Creative and I have to agree, they are the best!

Good luck with your training when you start

I think you will get a mixed response from the geeks here regarding whether it is a stressful time to start or not as we are scattered all over the world.

I do think that you seem to really want this and if you want it that much then get the best training there is with CND.

You need to sit down and plan your initial training, how much it will cost and if you can still get by while you are training and take into account that it will take you quite some time before you are "up and running".
Others have done it so why not you??

Stephen

Thanks guys,

I think im guna take the plunge and go for it everyone seems so possitive about the whole thing, i was a little worried with the credit crunch the industry may have slow down but that doesnt seem to be the case like shellkelly say we always want to look our best at any cost lol.

You wont go far wrong with creative,
they offer award winning education,
fantastic products,
and clients recognise the brand which makes a big difference hth

I started my nail business in 1980's during the worst recession the UK had known at that time. Women didn't even know about nails, so I had double the effort to both introduce them to the idea of having nail enhancements as well as taking on a financial commitment every 3 weeks to get them maintained in a hard financial climate! My business thrived from day ONE.

If you are good at what you do and are good with people and have credibility, there's no reason you shouldn't do well if you COMMIT to doing so. Part time is NOT commitment. People who really go for it the whole way are the ones who do the best financially out of nails.

How lucky are you having the Leeds Creative Nail Academy on your doorstep!! You will not find a better training school and you will not find a better product either. Good luck.
